Exhaust valves

Just got my car today. Haven't had a chance to really mess around with it yet so I thought I'd ask this question. What is the best setting for the exhaust to keep the valves open? exhaust button and engine on sport?

I’m not a 100% sure, but I just keep the default setting (button on - green LED) and I have M1 button engine set to Sport and it seems to work fine.

Per the manual: During the engine warm-up phase, the V8 high-performance engine has a somewhat rougher running behavior because of the emission controls. When the engine is cold, the exhaust gas system has a slightly metallic undertone due to the nature of the system.

Exhaust button to on (green) and sport or sport plus will keep the valves open.

I believe you can also un-plug the molex plug next to each exhaust while the valves are open thus leaving the valves "stuck" in the open position. Then you just tie the plugs back with a zip-tie.

Not true. Mine are unplugged with them open (have been for over a month now), and no codes have been thrown.

Same here, no codes whatsoever. I just did this little "mod" a few weeks ago and I really like it, and have no desire to plug them back in. There is a slight drone when cruising at about 2k rpm but not enough to bother me. I like being able to run the car in efficient mode and still have a nice exhaust note. I always thought that the valves were OPEN when the green light was on but as we all know that's not exactly how they work. I WISH that's how the button worked, either always on or always off then I would just leave them plugged in but this is the next best thing to me. Now I just have to find a good way to cap off these connectors so that they don't get wet...

Any chance you have a photo that shows exactly where to do this?
