Motor Trend M5 CS Review: Impressive Results That Should’ve Been Even Better
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I would be interested in seeing the difference with Pirelli P Zero's on both the CS and Comp. https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2...t-test-review/ |

Motor Trend focusing on performance data is a miss. They mention nothing about this car's true magic—how beautifully balanced and precise it feels, whether driving casually or pushing it hard. A joy to drive at any speed.

Could it be they were trying to calmly present data showing it beat the CT5-V Blackwing in a lot of categories and didn't want to gush over it further? It seems a lot of US outlets blow their load over the Cadillac and feel they must try to simultaneously crap on the CS. Perhaps the CS finally won them over and they're slowly coming to terms? 😂

^^^Perhaps so. I'm still shocked that the Cadillac beat the M5 CS around a track (forget the exact review). My point is this crap is meaningless to many enthusiasts.

This is a great review from Motor Trend. Makes me want to get the Corsa tires for my M5 Comp.

4100 lbs and 627 horsepower giving it a 2.6 second 0-60? Damn. Sounds like that claimed HP is underestimated too…

Can't wait to drive the Cadillac. If it feels 80% as good as my M5 CS, I'll likely sell the M5. I love manuals. I almost bought the Plaid a few months ago but cancelled on delivery day because it's a sloppy handling car with little feel and weak brakes.

That's what 1000hp will do in a straight line... As far as the caddy with a faster time... It's a wash, and we are talking less than a second difference between the three... It even shows that the tesla for that amount of straight-line speeds sucks dynamically. We're talking .69 of a second..its a win for Caddy, bit thats lift-off or a minor bad line... Tail happy error.. Also, in this review, I would have liked to know what tires did they all have, was it top-spec from the manufacturer as the P zeros are a rarity stateside. |

I think the hype of the Pirelli's falls short of reality. I haven't driven both on my M5, but previous cars have shown me that the Pirelli's are really inconsistent compared to the Michelin's.
But to each his own. Choices are good. Sweeping generalizations are usually not. Shawn |

I quit reading after that dude wrote "i'll circle back"
Reviews on the CS are nonsense anyway considering theres only like 250 made for earth. The people buying already have them, and are already trying to gouge on resale, or plan to lock it away as a collectible. so basically reviews on the CS are for CS owners or daydreamers to break out the lotion while reading it and/or use the review to justify an astronomical resale price (in a world where kias are going for 20k over msrp) It's also all just so laughable because heres how its gone for 10 years now -f10 released- what a boss!! amazing!! -couple years after f10- its a boat, heavy, no steering feel, loose, numb. nothing like the RAW v10 e60 with lighter tighter chassis and better steering feel!! -f90 released- what a boss! such a perfect car! -f90 lci released- what revelation. pre Lci was so rough riding and etc -f90 cs released - better steering, smoother, little changes but BIG difference, the m5 comp is worlds fastest honda accord. -f90 out for a few years- the f10 with its RWD only is so raw and rare nowadays and with a 6MT available in some of them. and they still look good. they are so much fun!! hot better get one!! (when f90 came out the f10 got ragged on hard!!) you get the picture? its all fluff for whoever needs to hear it |

I've never driven either car, but I can confirm there is a meaningful difference in the M2C and M2CS. I don't really care that much about straight line speed nowadays since they are all too fast for the street. On a side note, the M4C beat the CT5 Blackwing around the track (Monticello North) in the Road & Track Performance Car of the Year test. |
