The press release shows unladen EU weight at 1855kg, which would be just over 4000lbs. If that's the case it'll easily be the lightest car in its segment (a disctinction it will likely carry even if the figures aren't accurate).

I like the F10 M5 LCI better. Looks smoother and tighter. Not a fan of the bumper recesses above the intakes of the front bumper on the new F90, or the mirrors, or the rear bumper, or the pop tart nav everyone is going to now.

I'm splitting hairs, I would love to drive either. But the F10 is the better looking one IMO

Yes. And a better more equally optioned one should have been used for all side by side shots. The frozen Grey one at top for instance

Exterior looks good. Some odd bits on the interior, however.

Hands down F10 & E39 are the best looking M5's to date. F90 is trying too hard...

Seriously does every car need to keep getting bigger. Maybe if the car stopped getting bigger you could make them even lighter as you add more AWD components. Apparently 10-15 years ago the 5 series was just fine but now it is bigger than the older 7 series. I just shake my head when every new model gets bigger and bigger. Watch out 1970's caddy's your about to look small compared to the 5 series.

I think they both look good each in their own way. I do think that the F10 M5 will hold it's looks for a long time though, just like the E39 M5 does. With the E60 M5, it's looks were so polarizing, you either loved it or hated it. The F90 definitely has its own unique styling and I think is more aggressive and bold than the F10 M5. While the F10 has more of an elegant and understated look.

Had F10 M5 MCB CP and loved it but man, F90 M5 is an improvement in every aspect of it. Great job from BMW.

The new F90 is listed at 1930kg while the old F10 is listed at 1945kg. So even with all those new "driving dynamics" and an AWD system it still comes in 15kg lighter

With the exception of the transmission - I think it's a winner. Reminds me the E34. For those looking for flash - get a Porsche. The idea behind the M5 is to be descreet. If you don't know - you don't know. THAT is an M5.

impressive indeed. But no one said they HAD to do an AWD system. Poll any current or potential M owner out there, I bet a vast majority would either be against it in one way or another.

Also be aware, the method for reporting weight differs between EU and USA standards. http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/f10...rb-weight.html

The interior is busier than a Christmas tree. I like the F10 interior better, much cleaner.

Agreed. I much prefer the interior of the F10. It flows better. That floating iDrive screen in the F90 just kills me.

+1, altough M4 looks quite OK. Time to think in a P car

Does the width measurement measure between the edge of the mirrors or from door panel to door panel?

I liked the E60 the best. And the new steering wheel looks like from a Toyota....

In these side by side pictures you can really see the F90's more aggressive stance. The F10 looks like a sleeper by comparison.

But those shots make that F90 look like it's got the ride height of an X6.

I don't know if you'd fix that with a front spoiler or if it needs to be lowered by 2", but that foot of ground clearance is really inconsistent with its low and wide body shape.
