Let's hope the M5 CS isn't a waste. In other words, let's hope BMW tunes next M5 more like the CS. I think they will so everyone will benefit.

I've never driven either car, but I can confirm there is a meaningful difference in the M2C and M2CS. I don't really care that much about straight line speed nowadays since they are all too fast for the street.

On a side note, the M4C beat the CT5 Blackwing around the track (Monticello North) in the Road & Track Performance Car of the Year test.

I’m sure it’s faster but you don’t think something is wrong with the M5c or driver when the final result is 12.7s?

Possibly. It would have to be a terrible driver to lose by that margin, especially from a roll.

The only thing I could think of was the M5C has really bad tires. I can't imagine they'd put a car that isn't running 100% on the program, but who knows.

Stock for stock all the M5/M8 should of been equal. I doubt any of these cars where bmw fleet cars, that M8 wasn't for sure.

I've posted this before but I'm dubious. Anytime the Carwow clowns are doing any sort of race/comparison where M cars are involved, I'm always skeptical. There had to be something wrong with the M5 Comp or the driver didn't know what he was doing. Stock, my M5 Comp ran back to back 10.9 1/4s (verified by Dragy).
  • M5 CS - 627 HP, 4096 lbs
  • M5 Comp - 617 HP, 4243 lbs

Given that ^^, something else is up. I have a hard time believing that 10 hp and -230 lbs puts that much of a gap on a Comp. I'm just not buying it.

The M5's before 2022 that carwow has tested have had wildly inconsistent launches. They've mentioned it before. The M8's are dead consistent every time.

I never launched my 2018, so I know nothing about U.S. launches. But this trend has been obvious over several carwow videos. It included Evolve's car, which is tuned to within an inch of it's life.

if you think a CS is beating a comp like that, you need to get outside some more.

My CS came equipped with PZ Corsa. I can't compare it with PS4S, but I am super satisfied with the tires... Except the car has huge appetite for rubbers.

I have toasted the PZC in just two 20-minute sessions on my local track. The track is 3.9km (2.4 miles) long with 19 corners, hard on front left tires generally.

Performance is good, but hard on your pocket is another matter.. I am looking into alternatives, but so far no luck. even if I have money to burn and can afford unlimeted number of tires, a set of tires that don't last an hour of ameuter tracker is pointless in my opinion.
