Any update on your car? Still on the boat or reached the port?

My ship docked into Charleston this morning at around 430am and is currently offloading.

Others have reported their tracking status in track my bmw reverts to at the port - this is a bit of a "bug" if so.

Now the wait for the RAM recall and in my case MPE install (hoping to not get too slowed down by the carbon fiber shortage).

While I don't have an official pick up date at the performance center, my CA is still pretty optimistic I'll see the car before Thanksgiving.

Not bad, hopefully you'll get it before thanksgiving. It also depends on the recall as well, I heard that's holding a lot of people back. Keep me updated on the recall because i have the same issue.

I'm very curious to see how long it takes for your RAM to get installed. Mine has been at the port in Germany for 11 days now and i have the same RAM stop sale that needs to get addressed when it unloads at the port in California. Keep us posted.

I have been at the port since 10/27. I called BMW genius and have also checked the BMW recall website and both have said I do not have a stop sale on my vehicle.

I'm curious to know if most people found out about the stop sale prior to leaving the port in Germany or was it when they reached the port stateside?

I found out about the stop sale while my car was at the port in Germany. Was told the missing part would be added once in CA.

I found out about my stop sale while it was being loaded onto the carrier in Bremerhaven. Once it arrived to the LA port, it was then outfitted with port-installed options and had the audio and whatever other related chips re-installed / updated. It sat in LA for about 3-4 days and then made its way here to AZ.

Awesome thanks for that information. I'm hoping I got lucky somehow and received the audio chip but I doubt it. I think I'm going to alerted once it hits stateside.

If you have your VIN you can check the status of the RAM stop sale here:

https://bmw-recall-tool.netlify.app/

Mine was definitely off loaded in Charleston yesterday - the status has reverted from in transit to at port (a bug in BMW's tracker app). Thus far the RAM issue has not been resolved on my car - I somehow thought w all the chip delays we weren't going to be subject to this delay as well, but alas that is not the case.

Its impacting a lot of the line - there's a pretty big thread over in the G80 section discussing as well - and generally it seems cars are moving thru the RAM recall issue at the VPCs pretty quickly.

Fingers crossed.

That’s actually pretty promising to hear.

Maybe they are doing the recall there? I have the same recall as well and my car was at the port for a week. I'm sure once my car reaches U.S port it's going to get the recall done there. Hopefully doesn't take long.

Just got off the phone with BMW genius. Representative said that as of 'very, very recently'- they have been building the cars in Germany with the audio chips in them. They are no longer sending cars out of the factory with that missing chip and installing it at the port. That being said, I have no stop sale on my car thankfully as of now- but it has been stuck at the port for 8 days 😩. I know that's not terribly long but it's just so close that I can feel it.

2 weeks on the dot for me sitting at the port to in transit. Although it’s a step in the right direction, I’ll still be lucky to have it before the end of the month if that.

I wish I had good news for you, but unless they did the radio module before it got on the boat, you may have more waiting to do. Mine has been in Baltimore after coming off the boat on 10/22. Waiting on the Radio Module, genius and dealer have no ETA.

My SA says “ It’s got your name on it, so it’s priority one and will go through work order as soon as it gets to the port. They have parts for priority one only, not unsold units.”
