Stuck on Quality Check 1+ Week??

F90 has been on quality check for 9 days. Any idea what the hold up is? Anyone in a similar situation?

Mine - '21 M5C - went through quality fairly rapidly - about a day. However it's currently been stuck at the port awaiting a ship. I called Genius and they said it's on a new mandatory recall so it's not going anywhere until they swap out some kind of audio chip. All due to the wonderful supply chain issues with chips I assume. Could be that they caught yours with the chip recall during quality check?

Weird. My '22 M5CS finished production last Friday and arrived at the port on Tuesday. Now it's just waiting for a boat assignment.

No quality check delays for me. Would be funny if 2022s got delivered before your 2021.

Still stuck. Nothing confirmed, but I was told this is probably because of a rear backup camera recall. Even then, 2.5 weeks is ridiculous

I'm at over 3.5 weeks now - with no real explanation. A genius told me it was due to shortage of ship to transport them, when ask if that was true why is it not in "awaiting carrier assignment" he could not answer that. Last Friday the genius told me they don't know, but it should change on Monday - It didn't. All my dealer will say "it should change state in a couple of days, and be happy it's out of production".

You would think someone would know why the cars are in that step.

Per BMW Distribution Manager:

We found out today that there is an issue on the 5 Series production with 5DN – Parking Assistance Plus, which is part of ZEC – Executive Package on this M5 order. Rework is needed and I believe it is a semiconductor chip supply issue.

There are very few parts available right now and this rework has to be done before the car can be completed and shipped from the Plant to the U.S.

Unfortunately we don’t have an ETA on when the rework can be completed. The rework will be performed on vehicles as the parts arrive at the Plant.

Anyone stuck in the same situation as me, quality check over a month now. I called bmw genius and they couldn't find any update on why is it stuck at quality. Production was done 08/03.

From what I heard it could be because of the B&W sound system shortage, not 100% sure. It would be nice if they let us know the exact problem.

Yeah same here, all the options are there but this thing is stuck at quality for over a month now. I called bmw genius and they can't find out why it's been stuck at quality for such long time.

I've seen a 2022 M5c stuck in quality check for over a month now. I think it's definitely related to parts availability but it is also spotty as other 2022 cars that started production after have been delivered already (one to me!)

Can you switch to another car?

I’m fine waiting. I have a 2019 and the lease is not up until December anyway. I grabbed an allocation order when I could anticipating there might be delays and just wanted to make sure I got a car!

M5 CS stuck in quality check for one month + now. I thought it was because Dingolfing takes August off for vacation. But it gives me time to save up to pay for it. I'd still like it now, though.
