I'm driving a 2010 E92 325i and I'm reading on average a 18.5L/100KM on my meter, I've got about 6XXkm on my car, the only mods I did was to put on 19" rims and tires.... but I find this fuel consumption is extremely poor~~~~ my friend has a brand new Z4 2.3 and has around 9XXkm, his meter is reading 14.5L/100KM?!?!?!?! And his car is also running 19" rims and tires... My car is going back into the shop tomorrow and I want them to find out what is going on. I'm running my 2nd tank of gas right now since new, my first tank I've only had 270KM which is RIDICULUS for a regular 325i!!!!!! I would expect this type of consumption on a M3 or a C63 NOT on a 325i~~~~ I really hope this is just the run in period or else I'm deeply disappointed with BMW.....

does ECU affect the fuel consumption???
Previously before the ECU my consumption is arnd 17+/100km and around 390km (always in DS mode)
Today i saw my average consumption 14.8/100km arnd 480+km (map stage 3 100% Throttle remap and performance on)
but i noticed the engine oil become very hot.... is this normal?

Other than the ECU only the brembo are new dont think this affect consumption....
Using Shell V Power with NOS 30% + Silkone Octane Booster 70% mixture

My E93 325i is now running 1,4xx km with 14.8/100km which I think it's a bit higher than I expected. Will it getting better once the 'run-in' period gone?

it is very important for what kind of petrol you're using, it makes a huge lot of difference in fuel consumption vs KM.

When I first got my 330i (used) back in Nov it was running around 16.5-17.0L/100km mainly on DS mode.

Since then, I've installed the BMS Power Box, Performance Air Intake and fueling up with Shell V-Power. The past 3 fill-ups, I'm running 12.0 - 12.5L/100km under same driving habit (in DS mode). That's an improvement of 5L! Mind you, I drive at least 40km to/from work on highway. I think the highway driving and clean fuel helped clean the engine yielding better gas mileage.

Yes, 8.3 L/ 100 km for my last tank of gas. I am using Caltex free oil card from BMW HK. I filled $500HKD gas for 385 km during my last tank. Too bad, I always use Mobil on my Accord 2.4, and can't compare the fuel consumption directly to the 323i, but I feel the fuel consumption is pretty much the same in these two cars.

lifto, it's amazing... We have the same car and I did exactly the same.. (gas coupon from Caltex) and I'm running 13.6L/100km for my first... 12.8/L for my second....@1,100km.... if it isn't my weight than there must be something wrong with my car...

you do highway 100%?

I do about 75% highway. The round trip is about 75 km per day from Yuen Long to Shatin. Since it is still in the break-in period, I drive it very gentle. Hahahaha...still haven't tried the DS mode.

That's a relatively long drive by hk standards. I assume it's half an hour one way? Traffic also play a role I think in the fuel consumption, so if you are lucky to avoid the traffic jams on HK island or kowloon, that's great.

Actually, one way to my office from my home is only about 30 km (85% highway), and it takes less than 30 min if no traffic. However, I have to drive about 8 km one way (100% city) to pick up my wife every night. Usually, I need to spend 1.5 hours in my car daily. For the fuel consumption, if I don't have to pick up my wife, it is only 7.7 L/ 100 km, but I will be got killed quickly. hahahaha...

Haha, yeah, 7.7 litre is really low, but I guess for you it will come at a very high "cost"!

30 km would be considered a short and quick hop in North America or Europe, but here in HK, that would actually be reasonably long. Most average HK drivers just drive around 10-15 mins at most between Central to Causeway Bay or Mongkok to Tsim Sha Tsui.

I used to do around 45 km one way in my old job from NT to HK island, the literes per 100 km was low..until I reached HK island where it just shoots up with the traffic and the hills, haha!

E93 325i - 15.6L/100KM - done for 5,000KM
E92 335i - 13L/100KM - done for 2,000KM

I really superise the heavy fuel consumption of E93 325i.......
