Can I run downpipes without a tune on my 2022 M5 Comp?

Or if I have to head direction of tune, can I just use a JB4 to clear the code, have downpipes adapt to car? What should I do if I only want downpipes.

You can do downpipes but you'll get a check engine code
Even JB4 can't clear the code anymore
Your only option is a proper tune ( but you'll have to send your ecu to RUSSIA) and forget about your warranty

Just get secondary DP's, no tune required since you don't get a CEL.

Run the Downpipes with no tune and live with the CEL. Its worth it. After a while, you dont even see the CEL. Just doing the secondary pipes doesnt do much for you. Very underwhelming. Change out the primaries as well,?, now youre talking. Ask me how i know.

Jb4 can clear the code but you have to keep clearing it which is annoying

Agree as well secondaries are underwhelming and you can run it with a CEL with no issues, but I wouldn’t take it to any dealership and let them scan your key ever. You can also clear the code every time and it’ll keep showing up every 3-4 ignition cycles you so. Primaries also make a big difference in the speed/acceleration on the car. For me it felt like the car was much lighter after slapping downpipes on. Haven’t done them to my cs but I’m tempted to once I stop getting free service from bmw.

As mentioned you can run the secondary pipes without any issues. The primary will trigger a check engine light.

Yes, just run our secondaries and you wont have any issues with a cel. It all depends on what you are looking for. We have many customer's on the boards who are very happy with the secondary only.

You can run tun our full systems as well which contains primary and secondary but, you will have a check engine light. A tune will help resolve that or you can use a scanner to delete it every-time it pops.

Could always run hi flo primaries and secondaries. Better sound, and no smell and no cel. Best of both worlds.

It does have a CEL. It’s just intermittent and maybe some dont but depends on how high flow the cat is.

Only a few cats that will actually stop a engine light but, be prepared to pay big money for them. Most high flow cats being sold are just there to say you have cats and may stop a little smell and reduce sound volume..
