That is exactly my understanding lol. Same exhaust - different tune. And it makes sense - BMW has to build the M5 for the hardcore and luxury folk alike - they can take a little more risk believing the Competition buyer may be okay with louder. That said - they still kept the comfort setting comfort - something I worried about actually lol...So it is still a balance. I’m the end it’s moot - it’s the same engine with a different tune and same exhaust with a different tune. I’m not modding mine at all - so I went for the most performance I can buy from factory. The tunes coming out will be way more power - and I said as much when I was debating to get the CP.

Yeah with the CP the thing I'm most interested in is how comfortable comfort mode is.... lol, getting old. If I'm switching from the F80 it's for a bit more comfort.

We may have something in common lol...preliminary reports from Car and Driver and Motortrend say that the comfort setting is equal to the M5.

The M5's here in the UK seem to come only with Michelin's, mine came with the PS4'S.

This is how all standard M5's should sound from the factory with the competition coming with the M performance exhaust. BMW finding ways for us to throw more $ at them

Thanks everyone! I am surprised it is this loud - for a 5 series - it is more M3/4ish...

If by mods you mean options - very little - I did the air package and Exec package - Canadian cars come with the M seat belts - and the Competition came with the rest...

If you mean real mods - none and no. I am fortunate to have cars I race - and I do not need additional headache. This is a daily and a lease.

That said, it won't stop me from racing it lol...

I will definitely post about the car; pics, videos, and full tests and reviews. I have my website carandracer.com where I will write a full review. Also Throttle House will fully test it in addition to my trips to the track - likely against another car we all know...

I race - and beat - the Corvette Grandsport at 22:23 with my M550ix in this video lol. A similar video will host me and my car...

congrats - I hope the CP version is comfortable, my current M5 is on the,, is is comftfy or not, and most of my passengers said its ok.
which tells me its still rough in comfort mode.

Thanks...I am not unrealistic...I know it won't be as comfy as my M550ix - but I am hoping it isn't like my GTR either. I'm a little older now - so comfort actually matters to me lol...That said - I can get by with the GTR - so I should be okay...I hope. Magazines say BMW did a really good job on the suspension despite the changes.

I just discovered that the F90 M5 is 1.5 inches wider than my M550ix...I thought they were the same as they are the same length and height (almost). That is a welcome discovery - it needs to look a little more muscular than a regular 5 series...
