It certainly does look out of place, but I believe it is for the radar/sonar sensor that allows it to have semi-autonomous features, as is the case with the G11/12 7-Series. The kidneys are still two pieces.

I must also say, I quite dislike the black kidney grilles on the F90 as it throws off the proportions of the front end and makes the already large kidneys appear extra-large.
The G30/F90 is one of the few modern BMWs where black kidney grilles make it look uglier, more cheap-looking, and more "bro".

Horrible introduction colour imo. What about imola red BMW, i mean you have a portefolio of so many great looking colours. In fact any other colour would be better than this. But in general the F90 just doesn't do it for me. I know what Jeremy clarkson will say about that shifter

I would disagree. I play my xbox a few times per week because I enjoy it. It is also quite beneficial for hand/eye coordination, which is directly relevant to my job.

While I am far too attached to my current BMW, I would have no trouble affording this new M5.
+1, I spend more money to play game then paying my m4 every month. Yet my company still running really well. I will only agree that ppl doesn't know how to balance their time = failure, not limited to just video games.
+2 I play league of legend every day and my tire is master while I also work and make enough money for the life I want!

I agree. And look at dudes suit.

The entire leadership team needs a make over. With the exception of Adrian VH.

Ridiculous ignorant comment !!! You have no idea what you're talking about

Investment banking technologists make very good living. The M cars are not uncommon in that crowd. Guess what ? Most grew up playing games in the 80s.

comes down to balance of your work and personal life time. You can't assume one or the other. It's not like all non-gamers can afford an M5 either. Point is, there's no true definition of a "gamer". And when you spend hours each day playing, then you're not spending those hours doing something else. Who's to say what's right or not? Depends on that person's situation.

I use to play about 1 hour a day on average. (was addicted to Halo and CoD series) Since I got my XboxOne in 2014, I turned it on 5 times. Since then, I started a new job, had a kid, I barely have enough time to watch my recorded shows, and one football game a week, let alone playing a game.

Man, you sound just like me, except I'm on PlayStation.

But, good point. I found it odd they chose to do the reveal of such a major model at this event, rather than a major auto show.

then your 9-year old is a gamer. You are not. Incidentally, marketing the G90 M5 in video games to your 9-year old gamer is a moot point, unless you need to convince your wife that you need a G90 and your 9-year old holds sway in the decision.
Not really moot though even to a 9 year old. When i was in middle school my dream car was an audi rs6, and its still the reason that i've only driven v8 sedans since i was 20.

Marketing driven at "the kids" think is cool is still a pretty heavy influence today, whether we like it or not. You dont make aspirational halo cars by only showing them to people in their 40s

Somehow it looks worse in the game preview (aka moving) than it does when you look at the press photos.

Like a barge on wheels....and not in a good way?

LOL... Smoking raises your blood pressure and causes lung cancer while you are at it.

No time for that kind of foolishness.

Don't be so hard on the color. I wanna say something. Chime in if need be.

First, we all know BMW love to show off there designs. IMO, that color really show the lines of the car and most importantly the design cues.
I must agree, I'm iffy too on the color. Considering the purposes for promo, I can give it a pass. :

Secondly, the floating calipers issue. Why must it be? They don't do it for the (I believe the 2 as well) 3/4. Why the 5/6/7/X don't. Is it a manufacturing thing, weight issues affecting dynamics?

Maybe it'll be an LCI update or some type of braking package.

I just would like BMW reasoning behind that. It's very perplexing.

You do know that one of the professional drivers on the Nissan team came from playing video games. He was selected as the top driver in Gran Turismo or Forza ( i forgot), and now he races actual cars.

Nvm here's the article.

Aside from that, professional gaming (e-sports) is a real thing, and it's a billion dollar industry.
