How far into production can you change something like wheels?

Finally got tracking info on my 2022 order. And of course, dealer put wrong wheel choice on there. How far into production can they make changes? I would think wheels pretty easy to swap at some point. Waiting to hear back from the dealer.

Well according to the tracking guide, once cars enters production no changes can be made from that point on.

I have the 810M wheels on my car and I love them, they’re no where near as common as the 789M Y-spoke wheels you see on most M5s.

Hopefully the dealer can make it right after car gets delivered since they ordered the wrong wheels.

Good luck.

You can change right now. I have the same status as you & I changed my interior on Monday. I believe our cars will go into production on Monday.

Any pictures?

They don't look bad at all, but liked the idea of the forged 789's versus cast 810's. With my driving won't make a difference, but still not what I ordered.

Dealer said it went into 150 status so change unlikely.

Assuming you have documentation of the finalized order with all the specs you want, you should definitely push to get what you ordered.

I have the 810 wheels on my car (dealer spec'd) and I do like them, but again, if you ordered the 789, you should get them. Almost everyone with the comp opts for the forged wheels… they suit the car well

Here's mine with the 810M:
I would definitely push the dealer to make it right if you ordered the 789's

Thanks. They do look good as well. I'll see what they can do to change it otherwise I'll see what it looks like when it comes in and make a decision. Who knows, I might like them. Or they might sweeten the deal a bit if I take it.

How are you liking the color in person? I have the same color with Silverstone in production.

I think MBB is amazing, especially in person. In bright sunlight the color just pops and in low light conditions the color has great depth.

It’s definitely my favorite color BMW I’ve owned, you won’t be disappointed when you get yours.
