Yes. That's the while idea behind the "United States" part preceding the America. When our forefathers left Europe and came to America they all had there own specific desires of what they wanted in the new world. So separate colonies were born. Then those colonies became states upon declaring independence, 13 colonies United under one idea. Freedom.

So yes there are state laws and federal laws. The constitution (and federal law) is what gives every citizen the right to bear arms. But how far that goes is up to the state, ie open carry, magazine size, concealed carry etc. your more liberal states like NY and CA are more strict while conservative states like VA, TX, FL are less.

Sorry, I just don't like wide nets casted.

I'll elaborate, I lived in a state once where it was easier to get my concealed carry than it was to register my car. That's just weird.

You men (and women) sometimes make poor decisions. I pray for him as he lost his life due to perhaps a bad decision. I feel for his family. I'll leave it up to God to judge him and not make assumptions about the cause of this terrible accident. Be happy that such a tragic event never occurs to you or a loved one.

Put my 2006 350Z in a canal 3 weeks into ownership on my 21st birthday (100% sober). Never downshifted into a corner again. We all live to learn from our mistakes. Unfortunately this time he couldn't cash the check. RIP M brother.

My son is quite gifted in a car and MX bike but frankly I wouldn’t let him have the keys of my M5. Young equals dumb and they don’t respect the power and how fast this thing is capable of which in turn will get you in trouble way quicker than a Golf R which is his daily driver.

Been there and done that with 2 RX-7's I owned. One I went too fast in a curve on a B road and crashed into a embankment and 2nd one on the interstate changing lanes at a fast rate and plowed into someone. I have owned plenty of sports cars and do not take for granted I am the best driver and now know my limitations.

I think in the other thread about this crash, it stated that the driver ended up in the back seat. Which leads to the assumption that he wasn't wearing a belt.

Honest question: who still drives without a seatbelt and do they somehow disable the annoying chime or is it actually worth it to their ego to deal with the chime to not buckle up?
Yeah, I had someone explain to me a few weeks ago that a wearing a seatbelt goes against his constitutional freedom rights as a US citizen......
Sounds like the same argument about not wearing masks.

US citizens have the gun as their personal protection but actually in the car it’s your seatbelt.

It was a bit of sarcasm..... my bad.
It wasn't bad sarcasm. He just didn't get it.

I've seen people buckle the seat belt on top of the seat, and then sit on the seat, on top of the belt, instead of under it.... completely mental in this sort of vehicle.

Shame, and stupidity like this typically prevails. To not wear a belt is insanity, it's an involuntary movement for me at this point / 50yrs old. Now back in the day, like 80s and earlier, I don't know how we all survived. Christ, weren't even any baby car seats, no ABS, no Air Bags, etc, etc. I was born in '70 and my first car was a new '87 Mustang GT, in which belts were never worn at the time, which was just the way it was. I think it became the norm to "click it or ticket" in the 90s. This kid must have frequently roasted those tires in RWD and no conception of treadwear / traction loss as a result. I bet he was in RWD at this time too, Shame....

It's not surprising at all...this day and age there's so many different ways to make money legally that people in my generation are much farther ahead these days. I'm 23 and will be purchasing a G80 M3 when they arrive. I've also had a lot of cars but always respect the power.

It sucks that a life was lost. The problem is that these cars are so good that you almost have a false sense of security until the car loses traction, especially when wet or hydroplaning. Simple things like checking tires is a must on these high HP cars, well on any car really. I had a friend total his Corolla after me telling him to replace his bald AF tires.

Tragic loss of a nice car. Not a care for the deceased driver - we can control elements of our life based on the risks we subject ourself to. Driving like an idiot is a personal choice, just disappointing the family have to mourn a loss. Thankfully no one else died in this crash.

The glorification of driving like a muppet, filming it and putting it on social media is only making things worse. The amount of videos I see of speeding and reckless dangerous driving on social media is sickening. As are the comments of young impersonal idiots giving the 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Dispute blatant breaking of multiple laws they are not removed by social media, but other videos for illegal activity are.
