Has anyone opted for the Service Inclusive Plus pack? for just over $7,000? Covers service for 5 years / 80,000km but also includes brake pads/rotors as well as clutch replacement. The standard included service is about $2,600. (but doesn't include clutch or brakes). I don't know how quickly a clutch will need replacing, but I figure the brakes will need changing at least once in a 5 year period....is the extra service cost worth it?

The service plan is available Australia wide. Just ask your dealer. Whether they pass it on at cost I guess is another matter. Has to be taken before you get your first service

I wasn't offered the service included pack. However, I did get 4years 60k included service as part of the deal plus a discount. That doesn't include consumables like brake pads though.
I was quoted the extended warranty from 3 to 5 years, I think from memory it was $7k. I didn't think too hard about it, as you can take it up at anytime before the standard 3 year warranty expires. |

Did anyone consider a pre-owned M5 over a new M4, considering you can get an 2012 M5 for about $160,000
The 4 year/10,000km/year BMW full circle guaranteed future value (of the M4) was quoted to me at $82,000....so around $25,000 depreciation per year over 4 years. (given new price is $185,000 or so with a few options) |

Was that the longest term offered?
I have been looking at used M5's with what they are going for now.

I was going to buy the M5 for myself back in 2011, but after I drove it in Spain, I decided that it was too much of a luxury sports car instead of a sportier car like the M3. The primary issue is the weight. I didn't like the car that much so never got one.
Btw, anyone interested in saving some money off retail and buying our Yas Marina Blue M3? Done less than 500km and comes with HUD, driving assistance, full leather, and 4 years service. I bought the car with the intention for it to be my wife's car, but she doesn't like it at all as it is "too noisy" and prefer to keep her 2013 5 series. If I can sell this then I will reorder a M4 with CCB for myself. If I can't then I'll just keep it for myself. |

Running in service done today. I said to the wife when she took the car in, "I bet they don't have the sump plug". Guess what, they didn't have the sump plug. Managed to find another one from another dealer, so the car got done. Just a word of warning for anyone getting the run in service done. It is a unique part to the car, one use only.
Taking it to the track next week, so that will be the first real test of the car |

Hi all
just got told my F80 is out of factory at Regensberg, and is on the way to the Port at Zeebrugge for ship out. Anyone got any idea how long would it take to ship to here? and presumably it will arrives in Melbourne and probably take a week to the west. Are there any other processing time once arrive at dealers? (i.e. compliance & check etc?) Just try to weight up my options Many thanks |

Hi,
Drove the car out at Eastern Creek (Sydney motorsport park) yesterday. The car performed well with no dramas. My main comment is with regard to the traction control. I could not believe how much it was intervening when on, even in a straight line at 170kmh it was flashing and pulling power! Once in MDM mode problem solved! I did a little review elsewhere on the forum http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...1#post16649551 |

Just proves that even at 170km/h this car still has amazing power & torque. I went to the same event a few weeks back and with 4 fully grown blokes in the car at similar speed the driver trainer could light up the rear wheels and drift around the track. I coudnt say no after that :-) |

Finally had a run in the new M4 today at Eastern Creek.
Thoroughly enjoyed the car, probably more so from the passenger seat in the hot lap session.....really demonstrated the cars capabilities! Not sure on colours and that exhaust note, but the car is as expected - a proper M car! |

Quick detail
Not that I usually let anyone wash my car but the Team at Addicted to Detail Opti-coated her and are more anal than me about keeping it clean and well looked after so wasn't too hard to give it to them for a quick detail as I had no spare time left last week.

Looks amazing!! What do you think of the Opticoat? How does the value compare to the genuine BMW offering? I never take up any dealers upsell offers however considering aftermarket paint protection.

I have been sucked into the BMW branded paint protection and although good and has a 3 year warrenty I found after about 3 months at best the water stopped beading and i was back to waxing the car every few months even though it said not to. I have had the opti-coat on now for 8 weeks and it still looks better than it did in the showrrom. I find all dirt and grime either fall off it or is easily wiped up. It has been washed 6 times now and makes it very easy to wash. The price is much the same but the opti-coat comes with a lifetime warrenty. So far im very impressed with the product.
