Just picked up a 2011 335i :P

Hi guys,

Just bought a 2011 335i e92 from BMW dealer It's an individual with ruby black metallic paint and oyster dakota interior leather. I pick it up on Friday...I love everything about this car but the question I have is the dealer seems to think that the 335i doesn't have launch control, even with the 7 speed DCT. Can someone here confirm ? Or is it only available on M3 ? I seem to recall many videos where DCT equipped 335i's are using launch control.

Evening! I have a 2012 335i (M Sport) which definitely has launch control... I have a photo of the black eleven's to prove it

Traction Control off (one press of DTC button).

Sport mode turned on (button by gear stick)

Foot HARD on brake

Foot HARD on accelerator (pushed past the point of the kick down)... You have to be brave here, If you don't push the accelerator all the way down, Launch mode won't engage and the car will try to creep)

Release brake and enjoy... FYI the rear tyres will light up and give a little bum wiggle before heading for the horizon!

DCT = Launch Control. Steptronic = No Launch Control.

Opps I guess I forgot to mention about DCT. Sorry I've got the ZF box only DCT is a different level

Thanks guys. It looks very very sexy :P I've been hanging out to get one for around 12 months now but it was definitely worth the wait.

The only thing that is missing is tinted windows...Any tips on where to go for a good quality tint job in Brisbane area ? BMW quoted me $795 lol

So got the car today, everything seems amazing. first time i really nail the throttle down the following error pops up.....

"Engine fault

Full engine power no longer available. Possible to continue journey. Drive moderately. Have the problem checked by the nearest BMW Service."

What theeee.......fuel pump ??? lucky i have 12 months factory warranty left, dealer said to bring it in first thing tomorrow for check. so damn frustrating !!!

Did you turn the car on and off again? Sometimes just waiting a bit seems to work as well and helps cancel the CEL I think.

ah yes German engineering at its finest. You need to have a tow truck on speed dial with these fucking things.

Thats awesome that you're getting the pump and injectors replaced along with a new 135i loan car!

Kinda bad timing though as you just got the car!!!

I had a similiar error that kept popping up, i changed the plugs and coils and it fixed the issue.

Yeah the 135i was a great little car while mine was getting fixed Turns out it wasn't the HPFP or injectors....it was the wastegate actuator.....free fix as i'm still under warranty apparently part costs $373. car feels absolutely UNBELIEVABLE under full throttle now

Nice car!

Welcome to the 335i.
Great car, but they aren't reliable. Especially if you tune them. This is based on my previous ownership of one and seems to be the general consensus amongst owners.
