Interested with the BREX white ring conversion. Based on the information from E90life, this kit does not replace the original bulb so the OBC will still detect the bulb (No warning for failing bulb). This is not what I thought at first. I thought BREX kit uses LED bulb to get that super white look.
I found this link for installing the BREX white ring: http://www.fame-web.com/diy/90/BREX_WHITE_RING.pdf however it's in Japanese. Can someone translate this to english? I'm so curious on how this kit works. It looks like they swap the glass part with small black box. Is this kind of like a filter (blue filter) so that the light come out white? Please someone with the Japanese knowledge help. |

It does replace the original bulb. You have to plug the power into the LED circuit or else it won't show up. Brex did a great job to avoid the OBC error problem and it works perfectly fine on my friend's car.
You don't have to put in the bulb part back in. |

Thank you E90Life.
It's so neat that BREX uses super thin LED bulb which position perfectly just at the end of ring optical. Unfortunately, the picture didn't show where the LED got the power from? In the last picture it looks like they black out the gap between the LED and original reflector. I wonder where the cables go? |

E90life just in case you're wondering what a diy is, a diy is a do it yourself guide on how to assemble modifications and other things. So it'll be cool if you can show us step by step how you installed the Brex on your car.
You have an account in the carview website in Japan right? I saw pictures of your car and it looks awesome :rocks: Nice to have you here at e90post.com. Invite your friends to sign up for an account here! A lot of Japanese E90 owners sure have good taste when modifying their cars Last edited by 1er120i; 03-10-2006 at 10:31 PM.. |

E90 RING
Anyone installed the RING bulb or LED on the E90? I have installed PIAA LED but one problem that I got was when you first insert the ignition key (a remote) into the key hole, the power will run for about 3 second but the LED bulb will blink by itself for about 3-4 second and they gone. Is this normal? It never happen to the original halogen bulb (OEM) at all....
