Wouldn't this be better in the photo / video section anyhow?

Sure, it may have a 1M in it, but If I took a picture of my N55 135i engine bay would I put it in the engine section?

S.hasan546 - How does the Elise SC compare to the 1M in terms of performance?

The reason I ask is that I used to have an Elise SC a few years ago and I'd be interested to hear your thoughts between the two. That is, assuming you've driven / been driven in, the Elise.

Oh i drive the Elise SC all the time lol. I was highly considering buying a Elise but it's my close friend's car. He lives right near me. It's also not his DD anymore so i can go over anytime and just drop off any of my cars and take his when ever i want. He doesn't care. No point in getting the same car when we can just trade.

The Elise SC is a totally different experience. It's a high revving go-cart. Difficult to get in and out, a little uncomfortable, but you forget all of that the second you start driving.

The Elise steering is the biggest upgrade too me. You feel every little thing on the road. The feedback you get is amazing. It honestly feels like telepathy. The car just goes where you think you want it to go.

Performance wise it feels much quicker than it is, the 1M feels faster but they are pretty close. i mean 0-60 and 1/4 is around 4.5-5.0 and 12.8-13.3 respectively. But handling wise, it's not even comparable lol. This thing just does w.e you want it to.

But the 1M has a lot of perks. Driving the 1M afterwards makes the 1M feels like a 5 series in comfort level haha.

Oh and all of that in a package that still gets around 20 mpg while i abuse it. Im averaging like 17 mpg in the 1M on the highway

IF my friend didn't have the elise I'm not gonna lie i would have gotten a elise sc. With a smaller pulley those things are seriously quick.

Seriously? Are you hauling rocks in the trunk? 17 mpg on the highway is worse than a M3 or M5!

a newer engine will definitely be worse on gas than automaker's projected numbers. i noticed this with my STi as well. after a year or so, it got a lot better. it really depends how you drive though (i.e. keeping up with your friends who own broken in Elise's, M3's, 370z's and 335xi's).

sorry hasan...i'm just giving you a hard time.

i had a slightly heavy foot and in NY the highway driving is considered city driving with all the traffic. Revving the car up to 5500 rpms in every gear does kill extra gas lol

But i went thru 3/4 a tank on saturday and another 1/4 on sunday. only 300 miles on the car.

Haha it's ok its hard not to at least keep up with them.

Honestly the car has so much power and tq down low that even shifting at 5k you have more than enough oomph to get going.

That orange in the first pic is ridiculously bad ass....best photo of the color I've seen to date. I hope it looks like that in real life. Congrats on the car!
