Exhaust options

Im reading a good combo is MAD secondary and Dinan X pipe:

https://mad-us.com/mad-bmw-f90-m5-downpipes-s63r/
Or this:
https://mad-us.com/mad-bmw-f90-m5-full-catback-exhaust/

Plus:
https://www.dinancars.com/products/e...arts/D660-0081

Are these the right links to buy?

Im looking for more sounds for my 23 M5 C, without causing a CEL.

Thanks

I think the most sound comes from the rear exhaust, but also the least power gains.

I did secondaries and X pipe. Pretty happy with the overall volume increase.

Were these all bolt on, incase I wanted to return to stock later on?

Also, when you say secondaries, did you mean like secondary downpipe like this:

https://mad-us.com/mad-bmw-f90-m5-downpipes-s63r/

Or this:
https://mad-us.com/mad-bmw-f90-m5-full-catback-exhaust/

X pipe:

So would that be only the X pipe? If yes, is that a bolt on or do any cuts need to be made.

My goal is to return to stock as needed later on.

Thanks

Rear exhaust is bolt on and pretty easy. Primaries and secondaries are more work. Replacing the front resonator with an X pipe is usually cutting and clamping — at least the Dinan but maybe there is one that goes all the way back to the rear exhaust.

X-pipe only install will require cutting. OEM exhaust is one piece from after secondary cats all the way to the back. You could keep the resonator and have them weld back in place when you return.

Why not do one of the full exhaust systems that install down stream of the secondaries if you need to put back to stock. Then no cutting / welding is involved. Some examples would be MAD, Valvetronic, Akrapovic to name a few

Mad secondary with Dinan X-pipe is an excellent combo for a mild sound increase.

Start with that and if you want more, do the MAD primary and/or axle back

The link you sent is a catback, not an axle back.
If you get the catback, then you wont need the Dinan X-pipe
Catback = axle back + midpipe

You can get the MAD catback and if you want more sound, add the MAD secondary pipes.

No cutting, no CEL

I dont have room in my garage to store the whole catback

Atleast with a pipe cut, I can store the cut items and return to stock whenever I like, without worrying about storing lengthy pipes in my garage.

Why are axle back so expensive, any cost effective brand/options?

I gave you the most cost-effective brand for a full catback; if the problem is the cutting, you can cut the catback.

Or take my first suggestion and replace the secondary and add a resonator delete for the less costly project.

Cutting isnt the issue, as long as it bolts right back on. I don't have the space to store a full catback in the garage, so was looking at:

Dinan Xpipe
Secondaries down pipe

Are you suggesting that I can also cut out the three factory mufflers at the rear axle back? (Sorry for not understanding, hope this makes sense lol)

You can cut any of the parts and reconnect them later using clamps or welding.

Thanks.

My flaps are already open on the rear exhaust, so I am not sure if doing axle back will make much of a sound difference, comments?

Also, are there any videos of the exhaust sounds with just the x pipe and secondaries only and videos of xpipe + secondaries + axle back?

I did secondaries and x pipe. Love it. It has a very slight drone occasionally in sport+. But in comfort mode it is still a very comfortable car. I got more turbo spool noise and a nice deeper tone which was what i was looking for. It really is very nice, especially for the $ invested. Maybe I can make some more videos.

Here is one I've posted before.

Thanks for posting. BTW....I like the black powder coat M789 wheels. That's next on my list. They look great satin black on your car.

Just placed an order for dinan x pipe and mad secondaries with x-ph.

With the secondaries, can BMW deny me routine service or void warranty?

It can deny warranty claims for problems it attributes to the catless secondaries.

Absolutely, there's always a possibility, yet I can't recall a case where a warranty was voided specifically due to the installation of secondary downpipes.

If you've come across it , please post the discussion thread? I'd like to understand the details to why it happened

If there is one axle back exhaust you guys would recommend for the f90, which one would it be that comes with a valve.

Order is in for MAD secondaries and Dinan X pipe.
