Interior touches?

With my car arriving in a few short weeks, I've begun to receive some of the parts I have ordered a few weeks ago. At the end of this list, are the MPerf Steering wheel and the Carbon Fiber Shifter trim.

Does anyone have an LCI with the M-Performance Steering wheel and/or the carbon fiber MPE shifter?

Whereas with the F82 M3/4, it appeared most owners purchased the carbon option.

Pics, feedback.. all is welcome.

I have both the steering wheel and the carbon shifter. Wheel was installed prior to delivery to dealership and I had the dealer install the shifter. They look great. Contrary to some assertions the steering wheel does retain the heating button and functionality.

Thanks! Loving the car so far it really is fantastic. The pedals are aluminum with rubber bits for grip. I don't think I have a picture at the moment but I don't even remember them being an option unless it was part of the competition package (which might be the case).

That's good news. I had never paid too much attention to the pedals when seeing an F90. Happy to hear the gas and brake pedals aren't blk rubber pieces

I bought as an upgrade when ordering the vehicle from the factory so I am not sure of the pricing when purchased separately. The CF shifter was purchased from IND.

Question!

So I spoke with my Sales Rep earlier this evening and we went over the install checklist when my car arrives at the port any day now.

I mentioned that I wanted to have the MPE Steering wheel installed and he responded with "I don't believe you are able to use "Drivers assistance features with that wheel"

Do you have Drivers package on your LCI? Can you confirm if it has lost any functions? **NOTE: I DO NOT CARE ABOUT HEATED WHEEL**

I do not have the drivers assistance package on my car. I decided against it bc I couldn't stand the big sensor in the front grill and I wanted the MPE wheel.

oh Lord. Looks like I have some information to dig up. I have it in my mind that I will be ordering this wheel for my car. The sensor doesn't bother me- but no upgraded wheel?!

Thanks for the info brother. Hope you're enjoying the new car!

No worries! When I ordered the wheel I also had no idea it would be heated so I could be mistaken about the assistance package and inability to get the wheel. That's what I was told but it seems that nobody really knows! I'm not sure what buttons you would lose to be honest so it may not matter.

Yeah there's been some confusion on the M perf wheel per previous threads and anecdotes. I was told by my CA that you lose heating and DAP (if you spec'd it). The online pics showed the same, until SleepyM5C confirmed that heating is available, but looks like DAP is still out. I wish there was more clarity around this but at least we have forum members to provide info.

I am going to get trim and paddles instead, or do something custom with perforated leather.

My original plan was to have BMW send some Tartufo scrapes or small quantity of left overs to me so I could have the black leather from the MPE wheel removed and restitched with Tartufo..

So if you can imagine, it would be..
Tartufo at 10 & 2 positions,
Black Alcantara at 3 & 9

I was then quoted a price of "2000-3000 to make the wheel, ON TOP of the cost of the wheel itself of 1900" so for obvious reasons, I canceled that idea and decided to play with the color striple at the 12 o
clock position instead

I would LOVE for some clarity on what is deleted / retained with the MPE wheel and DAP
Tartufo at 4 & 7

That would look amazing...but almost 4K for a wheel is a lot so I can't blame you. I would be frustrated too with the lack of knowledge with the advanced package and that wheel.

It was something I really looked forward to ordering. But I had no idea it was THAT much.

And you'd think that for a car that's north of 140k- and a steering wheel almost 2k- that answers on their functionality when paired together would be quick, easy, and 100-% spot on.

I wish someone would chime in with an answer. Hey BMW- promise to give me a full refund if the steering wheel doesn't work with my car and spec'd package?!

For that M performance Pro steering wheel do you no longer have the heated steering wheel function. On my F80 I changed to that wheel and lost the function and since having the M5 I've been dying to have a upgraded steering wheel just not sure if I get the heated function back or no. Either way its not a big deal.
