POLL: Should I go with the Pro spoiler or the M5 CS one?
So, I have a 2022 car in Tanzanite on Aragon (pic below for reference) and I have the opportunity to install either the factory MP Pro spoiler that attaches to the chamfered edge of the trunk lid (the one most folks have) or an OEM M5 CS unit. I have both in hand, so it’s not an availability of cost question, just a design choice.
I don’t intend to get a front splitter anytime, but if I change my mind I would go either with the MPerf unit, or Sterckenn. I like subtlety but still with strong lines. Oh, I have a Frequency Intelligent (FI) exhaust system with large 102mm black chrome exhaust tips. In case that affects your styling recommendation. Thanks for your opinions! -Ash |

Kind of described it on the first post.
The pro is a but bigger in profile and length, and attaches to the farthest edge of the trunk, at a 45 degrees angle surface. It sticks out the furthest in profile. The CS has a similar shape but is shorter, generally less aggressive, and attached to the last horizontal surface of the trunk. It looks like a more traditional design. While less aggressive, it looks more natural to my eyes. |

If it were me I'd go with the CS style just for the uniqueness of it. I have the pro version on my car and it is a very nice piece but dimensionally just a hair "large" looking.
I will say that the 810m wheels on tanzanite blue looks on point. I wanted that color but the dealer that had one in stock wouldn't budge off msrp, so I got a donington gray one from a different dealer for 7% off instead (this was nov 2020 when deals were still possible)… still wish I had the blue! |

If you go with the MPP rear diffuser then I think you need the MPP rear spoiler just because Otherwise they're so close it's not something you'll even notice the difference in after it's installed.

The CS is lovely to my eyes, but now I worry if it’s too small, given the large exhaust tips I have from my FI system. This describes my dilemma! And thanks for the compliment on the color and wheels! I couldn’t agree more. I got really lucky and swept this one right off open dealer inventory as a dealer trade that came in the night before! Only thing it had I didn’t want is a moonroof, but I’m ok with that now given how much I’ve used it (and how it makes my wife happy). Thanks again |

Yeah, lots of knockoff MPE style tips on flea bay unfortunately, as the BMW tips if you were to buy them on their own are insanely expensive (over USD$1K.)

I would go for the m performance spoiler. I saw somebody local with the CS style spoiler, and I didn't like that it was sitting on that trunk edge vs how my m performance spoiler is mounted.

Decision made! I'm going with the PRO style. I think the large rear exhaust tips need the scale of the PRO to balance things out. I also like the added sculpted surface in the middle of the PRO on its underside, which the CS does not have. Finally, since Tanzanite is a bit subtle (at least compared to the MBB I owned previously), I think the larger spoiler will amp up the excitement a bit.
Thanks for everyone's input - I really appreciate it! |
