It will be way too loud with the Eisenmann race and the rest of the parts

Besides the volume concerns I wanted to sample a higher pitched note. Plus never been in a position to get an Akrapovic before so I also want to see what they are all about. Have had Eisenmann on my past 4 M cars. I'm thinking this will lead to a very distinct sound profile. SS headers and downpipes paired with the akra. I'm excited.

So I have been receiving the next round of mods from IND over the past couple weeks. Aesthetics and exhaust. Wheels are supposed to show up today. Plan is to fit the exhaust this weekend and then the bodykit after that. Tires are on backorder so wheels will have to wait.

Plan for this build is a homage to the older style of modding where body color and clean wheels that match the car were the goal. Think Alpina and you will a have a good idea of the goal. With that in mind the aesthetics had to take a clean approach. As such all trim has been black chromed to match what carbon fiber there is and the 3D design kit has been body painted. Well, except for an exposed cf line that goes around it. IND took some nice pics of the kit before shipping:

They really did an excellent job of the paint scheme here. Plan is to install it next week sometime. Had to do a mock fit of the lip, couldn't help it:

In the meantime I installed the simple exterior parts: front rear reflectors, roundels, kidney trim, and M5 trunk badge.

Exhaust looking nice on the ground waiting for the weekend. Eisenmann race with Eisenmann secondary downpipes both in their ceramic coating. Carbon fiber black chrome tips are in the boxes. Yes that is a F10 system behind it that is also for sale:

DO you happen to have a sound clip? I am toying with the idea of ordering the lower Eisenmann DP's and would love to hear it

Sorry, no sound clip as they were installed with the race muffler at the same time. It would not be accurate. 🤣

You should definitely get them though if you are after more sound with your mperformance and more flow. They won't affect the cel light either since they are not monitored. Perfect fitment. Can get them coated too from IND for more heat protection.

Don't forget to add the Dinan monoballs and rear arms to the order when you talk to Ryan on Monday. 👍

Thank you for the update! Although performance increase is nice, I'm not chomping at the bit to have the numbers pumped higher. I am after the right sound profile though. I love the MPE, but I want my car to be heard and the sound echo from a distance.

Wait for Ryan?! I already ordered everything last night!

There are some. Car still in the shop and we went a different direction on the exhaust. Now doing a full black series Eisenmann system and we might try experimenting with some of the Eisenmann tips. IND has always supported me over the years so I wanted to make sure that I could express my gratitude by working with them to make sure I'm using as much of their distribution parts as possible. Akrapovic is Turn14 and with my order being in since August with delivery pushed back to the end of January the solution was obvious. My AZA wheel showed up so that is going to the shop tomorrow. Basically doing a bunch of stuff this go around and will explain when I get it back.

Also this showed up at IND so there's that...

Hopefully the hood will fit easy with no modifications needed since our grills are different with pre lci.

Definitely know how you feel! Told IND to get me one no matter what as soon as they become available. If all goes well should hopefully have it on the car by February.

Same! Everything was locked down for the longest time. Still can't get the steering wheel, but almost everything else is finally becoming available.

Yeah taking a bit of a risk here, but fingers crossed. There are some pre-lci's on the gram that have the hood already installed and it looks fine. We'll see though and I'll definitely report back on how it goes.

Awesome. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

I'm intrigued on the steering wheel as well. I got the paddle shifters a few months ago and really like them. And I saw in one of the reviews the guys commented the wheel had less padding and wasn't quite as thick. I've always wished the stock wheel was a little less bulky.

About that. I wanted to try something a little different so I went through AZA for my wheel. One of my requirements was enhanced feel if that was even possible. They decided the best way to go about that was to do basically no padding, which is totally fine by me. I'm quite curious to try it out.

The wheel is flat bottom, full perforated leather, red stripe, the smallest grip available, enhanced feel, cf trim. Wanted to experiment with this while trying to keep a clean look.

Looks great! I was also looking at similar options in addition to the m performance. I like the design you went with, right amount of carbon and good grain orientation.
Interested to see what you think of the feel.

Are you getting the M5 CS's yellow headlights? They could go well with the green paint.

I’d be willing to bet you don’t need new hardware for that, just coding.

Thanks! Taking a risk on the grips and flat bottom as those are almost too much for me, but I'm really interested in the feels part. Wil definitely report back.

Still working ideas for my pre-lci headlights. Want to keep it clean and tasteful. Modifying headlights is like modifying steering wheels. Can get really tacky really fast.

Maybe for lci guys? I know definitely not for us pre-lci light guys.
