Seatbelts pre tightening on startup/pull away

In one of the M5s I tested before buying mine I noticed the seatbelts tightening up before we pulled out of the dealership.
Haven't noticed this in the car I bought. Is this a standard feature or part of a package? If a standard feature is it known to fail?
Car I tested was an early 2019 and the car I bought a late 2019.

My 2022 does the tightening. Although, most of the time I hardly notice. I wonder if it only does it when it senses slack in the belt?

The ‘18 M550 I tested did this too. I was pleased because I liked that feature in my CTS-V. In the V, if you break traction and get a little sideways the belts go SNAP and tighten down on you even more. I did it to my wife one night after dinner and she was like “you’re gonna make me puke!” Lol

Guess I better check properly next time I start up and drive away. Otherwise a trip to the dealer to assess under warranty.

My 22 f90 does it as well. I like it; kinda feels like the car telling me, “I got you!”

It's funny because my 2020 does it and I only noticed it when I first bought the car then forgot all about it until recently like a couple days ago. It should do every time though I believe.

I believe it's standard in almost all of them.
Sometimes it won't tighten if it doesn't need to and senses you're safely buckled.

Coding is in ACSM (I just have scripts to apply the changes so do not recall exact FDLs). There is also an HO-wort to make changes to disable.

My car doesn't do it as well, I guess it's because I have the regular model not the competition, but am not sure, I also want to find out why.

Pretty sure all US models have it. Not sure about elsewhere. I have it and like it on my base 2020. Wife hates it cuz she seems to always be leaning forward when it happens.

I am not sure if hardware is the same, but could easily be tested.

Hmmm, now you guys mentioned it. I haven't noticed my seat belt pulling when I drive off. I have a MY'21. I do noticed it on the other loaner vehicles I drive. My other car is an F10 550 which I know doesn't have this seat belt feature so I would be very cognizant of it.

I have 2021. I did not notice it when I came across this thread, but when I paid particular attention to it I did notice it.
