I found a pre production CAFD file in a recent psdzdata update that has parameters for Bosch ESC 10+ for "M GmbH Prototypen". Some very interesting info in there.

For your project I think we've found an ideal combination. This M6GC is the demo for one of our M6 GT3/GTLM drivers and he's very pleased with the changes and specs. 20" 1p with the same front width/offset and a 1/2" narrower rear are going on. He'll ring it out and make any necessary suspension adjustments. Give the butt some more grip without making it unpredictable and balancing out the front without ruining the steering.
Those are quite tall tyres, roughly in the same region as the G11, interesting. That would allow for the Ferrari 315/35/20 tyres to be fitted easily though.
G11/12 actually has small tires for some reason.

Have all the tires I mentioned in house plus and more incl some prototypes.

Also just did a secret project for Audi that was revealed yesterday. Built a real version of the CGI R8 from the new Final Fantasy movie. They're quite, ummm, interesting in design...bit over the top and phallic but it's a huge step in future construction and materials. It's this method I really want to see released to market.

xDrive is likely to be offered the next gen or LCI. Not for this version.

If this car is 300lbs lighter and doesn't burn "motor" oil, I'll buy an M5 again.
Well someone flung out a figure of 180kg (396lb) weight loss which I highly doubt even for a RWD version and impossible if there is any front axle drive assembly. The F10 really isn't THAT heavy. The E60 had a totally unique chassis that was all aluminium from the firewall forward and it was less than 150lbs lighter and had a horrible power band for a daily driver.

As for the F90 powerplant, and I want to make clear this is solely a guess on my part and not a leak, but I would be inclined to think the engine designation won't be S63. It's already on its 3rd update (S63O0, S63T0, S63T2) and that seems to be BMW's limit these days. The improvements that came from the S63TU benefited the N63 so perhaps the M version may appear slightly before the standard version. The collaboration with Toyota might actually be just what BMW needed. They've actually done a pretty good job incorporating Turbocharging, Toyota is great at building bulletproof I6, V8, V10, and V12 motors, so a combination is almost perfect.
4,450lb isn't heavy? That's 7 series weight, actually the new 7 might be lighter. I'm betting the new M5 will lose about 150-200lbs as the 7 series did.

For the M5 to be considered "fun" to drive, it needs to get closer to the E60 weight. BMW was able to shed weight on the F80 M3, lighter compared to the E90.

By the way, it's already confirmed that there won't be an xDrive version yet. Unless it's just competitive distraction technique.
Which sources are you using for weight figures?

I wish there was a single way to measure cars! I often use goo-net to check out car weights, mainly as it is an easy place to find all of the weights. They list the weights as below on various cars

E34 M5 1680 - 1710kg
E39 M5 1780 - 1790kg
E60 M5 1830 - 1880kg
F10 M5 1945 - 1980kg

E63 M6 1820kg
F13 M6 1910kg

E65 750i 2040kg
F01 750i 2060kg
G11 750i 1940kg

E36 M3 1470kg
E46 M3 1560kg
E92 M3 1650kg
F82 M4 1640kg

So the F90 might end up being around the 1860 to 1900kg mark I think, with the new M6 (assuming slightly smaller but still 8 cylinder) could be around 1800kg or even a bit lower.

I really hope they add in the new model some agresiveness.

I like my F10, but somehow I dislake it looks pretty much like a 520 Diesel.

Dear BMW designers, please make a 600hp car look more like a 600hp and not like a Diesel. I hope you incorporate some of the M4 design stuff!

That's an interesting viewpoint. I liked the early models of the M5 up to the E39 due to the similarities and subtle changes to the regular 5 series. The E60 really started with aggressive and shouty lines making the car stand out. I always thought of the M5 as a stealthy monster.

I agree the E60 M5 was aggressive looking and u knew it was an M5 from a far. Totally stood out as for the F10 not so much. Most ppl see it as regular 5 series. I miss my e60 it just "popped".

I just checked, F10 M5 was presented in September 2011 (~2 years after the F10).
Following the 7 year life cycle logic, we will not see new M5 for another 2 years

On the other hand, they are testing it already for months, so hopefully this time M5 is coming much sooner.

I agree with this timeline in the past but I think M cars are coming sooner now then they used to. Not sure the exact timing, but I believe the F8x M3/4 came sooner than 2 years.

Excited for the new M5

I think the new long wheelbase would add positively to the handling and the inner space for the kids when you go out on trips on weekends. But I am sad to hear that they have kept the same engine. Don't get me wrong, the current engine is an amazing one and I have no major complaints about it, but I would have just wished for a newer engine that would have a better exhaust note than the current F10

F82 M4 is quoted at 1590kg (manual) EU (inc 75kg for driver/luggage) by BMW
