F90 vs Nissan GTR

Hi, i just found a test of F90 in comparison to Nissan GTR. Some drag races and times, check this out:

What is interesting when I used racelogic, my M5 did also 7,2 sec 100-200 km/h. Good to know that my M5 is not "broken"

Currently have both these incredible cars— without question the GTR is more fun to drive. The M5 is more gentlemanly for daily driving and obviously a beast, just not as fun a beast...

GTR weighs 600 lbs less. Hard to overcome that basic fact.

Heres the bottom line: Can it give you a back massage while doing 0-60 in 2.6 seconds (even less for some of us)?

I think not.

Most M5s are in the 3s 0-60range, high 2s, unless tuned. If you want to compare tuned vs tuned, the M5 stands no chance, the GTR tune scene is light years ahead.

The M5 is a really fast and comfortable cruiser. The fact that a practical 4dr saloon can match or even beat what a 2 door sports car, can, is amazing. That doesn't necessarily make the M5 a fun car though, unless your idea of fun is mashing the pedal and going straight. It has no steering wheel feedback and not much of drivetrain feedback, due to the torque converter. You're absolutely right about the weight too, can't overcome basic physics.

There is nothing special about a Nissan GTR anymore.

The top 60-130mph times belong to GTRs. They have 7s street cars/6s drag. In the Performance-mod scene no M car comes even close, so if thats not special i dont know what is!

Both cars are marvels of technology, just in different ways. The GTR we once thought of as digital is now superceded by the M5 in its technology. The GTR we have to remember was a prototype as far back as 2001, and appeared in 2007. It hasn't changed a huge amount mechanically - its still a fascinating set up with a really visceral driving experience (especially pre-2017 cars), and as mentioned you can easily tune a GTR to 700hp and it will run on both E85 and normal fuel. Weakness is the gearbox (you need to update the older models software) newer ones are fine, engine is pretty rock solid (hand built by master craftsmen). I swapped from an F10 Comp. into a 2015 GTR, the steering feel in GTR's is light years ahead of all M5's from the E39 to today.....the interior however is another story :-) the M5 is light years ahead in that respect. Also - what would have been interesting in this video would have been the figure 8 and the amount of G-force each car could hold. Now that would be interesting - but they need to wear the same rubber to make it fair.
