continental DWS square setup @ 275 35 20

Hey guys,

Thinking about running square 275/35/20 continental dws this winter on the factory staggered wheels. Would have done the original staggered 275 front 285 rear but they don’t make dws in 285. Was wondering if running those would cause a problem with the transfer case. I know the rotational mass is perfectly matched but not sure if the awd system is tuned for the 1% variation in tire sizes . Any help would be appreciated thanks.

I wonder how much variation is allowed too. Obviously as the tires wear that changes things as well.

FWIW the F90 technical guide lists 265/40R19+285/40R19 as the approved winter tire size. That in theory increases the variance to 2.6% so that would make it seem like reducing the variance by the same amount is ok.

Hi, I run a 275/35/20 sqaured setup. I have zero issues. Vehicle is AWD, and with squared setup, the circumference difference is 0%. I just had custom wheels made to offset the "flushness" and fitment of the vehicle.
