Individual builds will definitely have a longer build time, so just be prepared for that.

If you don’t have a production number yet you’re dealer is probably looking for an allocation.

Standard build and I got my VIN today. Things are moving along!

Don’t know if anyone will have that info here. Shop your local dealers or expand search to multistate. Or consider a broker who should be able to get you a decent discount and find a dealer with an allocation.

Does anyone know how long it typically takes to receive a production number? When I ordered my first BMW back in 2013, I had a production number within a day. This time, it's been 10 days and nothing yet. Just looking for insight based on your experiences. Thanks in advance!

Earlier this month, I got my production number the day after my order was accepted.

Check out the link to the thread I posted, it breaks down the common status codes and their meanings, so for example status 112=scheduled for production.

Also, the build week is the week when the car will finish production, not start, so that means production will start a few weeks before that date.

It all depends on whether your dealer had an allocation at the time you ordered. If you don’t have a production number yet they most likely don’t have an allocation and are looking for one.

Ordered Frozen Bluestone metallic end of February... received build date week 16 that is April 19-25... based on people's experience, when can I expect the car at the dealer in the Midwest? My current lease is over end of June.

Congrats! I am a build week 14 and my car went to scheduled for production earlier this week.
