I haven’t personally installed this CF kit, but I’m very familiar with the crap quality and QC generally from AutoTeknic. I’m with Maverik259 on this, Patton250. You are too anal (no disrespect meant — so am I, that’s why I am telling you this) for their lack of quality, (again) as am I. We’d go nuts from this. Though it does look really good on EM5C’s car. I think he got lucky with one of the better quality sets, but that’s anomalous.

I just called and talked to them. They said if any piece is messed up they’ll replace it. No problem whatsoever. I also heard that if I totally hate it, I can take it off and return it. So there you go. it seems to me you know me pretty good though. Lol :-)

It was watching James was what made me buy to and he was sponsored by Autotecknic too so take that with a grain of salt. And I was being sarcastic with the pic and I already posted pics on this threa about fitment. Just keep the order and go for it. I do love the color and the finish is nice

I talk back-and-forth with James once in a while. He still endorses it. I’d like to think he’d be completely transparent with other members here. But I really do appreciate your feedback. I knew you were joking with the picture. It actually made me laugh pretty good. :-)

How do you guys think it would look against black interior? A part of me thinks the aluminum trim gives a nice contrast against the all black interior. On the other hand, you can never really go wrong with carbon fiber. Tough choice. I’d love to hear some feedback from you guys. And of course if anyone with black interior has this CF kit please do post a photo!

I agree with your statement that you can’t go wrong with carbon fiber. It just makes every car look bad ass in my opinion. Even with a black interior.

Nah in all seriousness, it’s not that it’ll be that bad. I still have some of their stuff still installed. I did return an oil fill cap due to delaminating. I had to pay return shipping for their faulty product.

They did send me 2 cf trim kits for my steering wheel (well I think IND did technically) and both of them had issues and didn’t fit right.

To be honest i would install their trim kit and have been contemplating it for years. Just want to make sure I’m buying my lease out before I make this effort. Mostly since it’s my biggest complaint about the F90. M2, M3, M8 and X5M….but no M5? SMH bmw. I can even get it for my 2014 X5!

just never ever order their carbon fiber grill, what a piece of shit, they didn't even try on this one, all I was told it's handmade, and not even an apology for all the hassle. told me to send pics of me destroying it before my money would be returned. after that, i just buy BMW OEM instead.

Well, the vendor, I got my wheels and intakes from has sold dozens of them and he’s just one dealer. One of the other dealers I called said he’s placed a couple orders of over 100. So that’s two dealers. That’s not including the guys that were recommended here so I’m not sure about them. I don’t know guys. They also make grilles for the G80 that changes it all around and I’ve never heard any complaints in the G80 section about them. I’m not really trying to defend them per se but it’s hard to stay in business with a dealer network if you consistently produce crap. It’s just easier to produce higher quality stuff and charge more. Anyway, that’s my take.

I do not know why you wouldn’t get the OEM first in any and all cases. I get sometimes the front lip the car because different manufacturers make different looking ones. That I get. But the grille? Anyway, I completely agree with you. That looks like crap. I don’t blame you for rejecting it. I’m definitely on your side.

it was pure curiosity as you just separate the OEM piece and put the autotecknic CF piece on it. i still remember after spending 30 minutes taking the 2 OEM pieces apart and snapping this POS together I was like WTF? the gaps looks worse in person and it's all over. looks like some 3 year old with dremel cut it out.
