To a newbie, this is unrecognizable chatter I don't get it. What are the benefits of this change?

Combustion chambers are coated with iron so much stronger and resistant to scoring which leads to oil intrusion into the combustion chamber. So you gain some benefits of cast iron block without the weight. It is not clear what changes were made to pistons, rods, crank. Hopefully all are forged.
