M5 LCI

Curious if anyone knows what the LCI will introduce to this incredible car. I’m thinking of leasing one next month, however the residuals are weak. Therefore, just wondering, if there will be any significant changes that the LCI might have, perhaps I’ll wait just a it longer...

Think they’ll switch to the hexagon instrumental cluster?

F10 M5 changes were subtle and included LED lights, taillights, Steering Wheel grills and some other minor changes if I recall correctly. The changes on the E60 LCI were more material.

We'll see what F90 LCI looks like.

I really love how in the new X5, and 8 series, the location of the start button being next to the gear selector.

My guess is it will have the newest idrive and a few small cosmetic changes. I doubt they will move the ignition switch.

I think I heard it's coming in ~MY21, so you may be waiting for a couple years.

Sounds like I heard right. Not surprising--it'd probably piss off most of the early adopters if the LCI came out ~18 months after the initial model. And those of you that buy these a couple of MYs later once small bugs are worked out or once money factors and interest rates have dropped need us early adopters.

The M5 is based on an regular 5 series, and that came out in 2016 as a 2017 MY, I'm sure the LCI will be sooner than later.

it was announced late 2016 but came out in 2017. I would expect them to change in 2021

According to https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=901686, the G30 LCI SOP is 7/20 (I assume for MY2021) and the F90 LCI should start at the same time.

I find it fascinating that people are already looking around the corner for the LCI model when the original F90's started delivering just earlier this year... The grass is always greener I suppose.

Yes, but I don't think the people looking at LCI model already own F90s. It seems to mostly be people that think prices are a bit high right now, and figure might as well wait for the LCI and hope prices have come down.

My opinion is that you could spend your entire life waiting, so pull the trigger now. The LCI won't be noticeably cheaper, if at all.

Yeah wait for it and right before it comes out, LCI 2.0 will hit the rumor mill. And the vicious cycle will start all over again.

It PISSED us off having the CP turn up to quickly.

Looking at the lease residuals on the 2019 CPs, I am good with the "Civic F90"

Irony is that some of the cheapest M5s available on the dealer lots now are CP models with zero options, which is what I got. The "regular" M5s are pretty loaded up from what I've seen around me.

Zero options being relative - this thing is pretty loaded for a car with no options.
