Seat bolster wear

My 2019 donington grey with Aragon leather car with 3200 miles is starting to show significant wear on the left side of the seat bottom probably because I wear jeans most times. I can see the grooves wearing into the leather. At this rate the left side will wear through by 2 years if I don’t use a cushion or a seat cover and I’m not about to put seat covers on. WTF!?! I wonder if this is considered normal wear in BMW’s eyes. How are your seats holding up?

My seat is looking like crap in the same place as yours.. probably from getting crushed and scraped by jeans every time you get in and out of the seat..

Gee wizzz had my M4 for two years 48,900 miles and zero wear with my jeans. Maybe since I upgraded I’ll start wearing silk garments.

Aragon leather doesn't seem to be wearing well. Even on some new cars it looks stretched. Pity because I love the color

I'm a jeans guy and after 3600 miles, my Tartufo Merino shows no signs of wear. I do put a conditioner (Lexol) on it from time to time.

Same here - no wear after 2.5k miles and I have used no conditioner. This is with black leather.

My M4 had ivory white and after over 20k miles was also looking brand new. Both come with the same merino leather and I do mainly wear jeans.

Have always been surprised by people complaining about this - do you guys have a special and apparently wrong way you enter the car?

I think a leather conditioner like Lexol is mandatory. Leather is a formerly living organic substance that dries out no matter how good the tanning process. Given the extremes of moisture, temperature and abrasive contact it sees, you need to nourish it and seal it periodically with Lexol or something similar. I do mine monthly and I've never had significant wear and tear on a BMW.

I’ve heard a lot of good thinks about Lexol cleaner and conditioner. Time to pick them up.

How is ceramic pro leather sealant? I’ve heard it supposed to put an extra layer of protection on leather to lock in the natural oils and protect against abrasions similar to the car paint protection.. I’m gonna see in my detail guy recommends this since he did my exterior with ceramic pro

I see the grooves on mine as well. It's definitely from getting in and out - probably more when exiting.
Or like gungaslow - my butt is too large. Eh
