Heads Up Display and Sunglasses

Ok, I know this falls into the category of minutiae, but has anyone else noticed that on a sunny day, their heads up display becomes nearly invisible when wearing polarized sunglasses? I find this strange because this did not happen with my M4, but it's clearly an issue with my M5. Did they change something in 3 model years? I guess the only solution is to buy non-polarized sunglasses.

It's happened with every heads up display I've ever had.

Polarization blocks glare. HUD being the reflection of a projector is basically glare.

I had one car that had clear tint and it helped with the issue.

Have this issue with my X5M. It's not a model-specific issue.

Time for some non-polarized glasses for driving

Well just look at your phone when you wear polarized glass - same concept.

I just lower my glasses when I gotta look at the HUD. I really don't need to know my speed the whole time and if I do I'm good looking at the beautiful dash cluster. The only time I need to lower my glasses is to scroll through music on iPod. Rather use polarized lenses as they are the best!

Certain sunglasses at war by Parker are not polarized. Not expensive. Need to talk to someone to verify. I did this straight away and it works great.

If you tilt your head sideways while wearing polarized lenses the HUD will reappear.

That said, I bought non-polarized lenses ASAP.

This is the reason you can rotate the HUD in the iDrive menu. Rotate it a few degrees and I believe you can see it better.

Cool

Do you have suggestions about night-driving glasses?
Is it possible to have glares reduced and still have HUD visible?
I mean do you know products based on different phenomena than polarisation which doesn't cut off hud reflection?
