Same. Just placed my order yesterday as tirerack wont have the rear 285s in stock until 10/29 and I do not want to be stuck on summers when mid-November comes.

Also for those interested in the winter wheel set up they have to be special ordered, from Germany, through your dealer as they will not be kept in stock. I saw on a bmwparts website that it takes 6-8 weeks to come in currently. If you have the ceramic brakes I wasn't able to find out if the 19 inch winter setup fits.

Kind of disappointed the US has few options when it comes to winter tires. Is it a NHTSA regulations thing because I can't even find any winter tires for my dad's '18 E63s?

There is nothing officially available anywhere yet (Tire Rack, BMW, etc), but was curious if people have identified wheels that will work on the F90.

According to my BMW parts guy, he is pretty sure that next Fall, BMW's winter set will be 9.5 x 19 all around, with a 26mm offset and 275 40 19's.

Any comments, suggestions/ recommendations?
My winter tires is my F85 X5M! I will not drive my M5 in snow even if it has 4 wheel drive! Just me? How many on here will not drive M5 in snow?

My wife has a GLS 450, so when it's real bad and schools are closed, i'll take that if need be. However, a majority of the time i'll be in the M5, since it's my DD. I was finally able to get an M5, because it turned AWD.
IMO it's the perfect family complement to the typical workhorse SUV. I have a family of 5 (plus a pug) and it's wild to lug all around in such a "supercar".

Tire dealer just told me this

" In regards to the Michelin there does not appear to be an eta on the front tire size and well the speed ratings would not be matched ( the front would be higher which is typically not proper as the higher speed rating should be to the rear when mixed)."

Does this make sense ? Michelin doesn't make a tire for the 20"?

Probably not for 275/35 and 285/35. I just ordered 20' Pirelli SZ II for winter.

I got a quote for the Perilli's from the same dealer. But reading on Bimmerpost they're not as good as the Michelin's

AWD plus SZ II should be good enough, even for Halifax.

Hi everyone, new to the forum and about to take delivery of a Donington M5 (first BMW coming from Audi, Porsche, GT-R etc).

I have a dumb question. I have been looking for aftermarket winter wheels and have noticed that some brands will show fitment for wheels for M5's with the ceramic brakes but then the same wheels are said to not fit cars with standard brakes. Any ideas why this would be?

Thanks in advance!

That might have to do w/ certain offsets, to allow for the CF, which won't work w/ non CF applications.

I'm assuming my Dealership 10 min away can handle the duties w/o scratching wheels??

WOW, you must be in a very rural area. Must be 3 dealerships within 20 min of me, but I'm in the NYC metro area. You must really stand out in your town, right?!

I spoke to my salesman, who i've been using since '95 and he said don't trust the dealership guys to do it. Therefore, I'm going to my Indy to get it done...

Would this setup fit on a 2019 M5 with the 20inch option?

Wheel: Braelin BR06 19 x 9.5 with a 25mm offset and a 5x112 bolt pattern
tires: Pirelli Winter 240 Sottozero Serie II 255-40-19XL

And what is the bore of the wheel? I have to chose between 57.1, 66.5 and 66.6.

Thanks guy!

Got mine installed last weekend as well, but man those OEMs are very heavy wheels, feels a lot heavier than my 21" summer wheels when I carry them to the shop.
