Extended Warranty?

While I recognize that most here roll their vehicles into a new car long before the BMW warranty expires, has anyone purchased an extended warranty either through BMW or a third party? I'm having difficulty finding a third party dealer who will sell a policy because of the high cost of repairs associated with the M5.

Insure your car through Geico and then by there extended warranty plan. You can switch to their insurance at anytime in the first year of ownership and take advantage of this.

I've heard that this exists but I don't know of anyone who's ever used their warranty insurance or if it pays without hassle. I will investigate.

I actually don't know anyone who has actually used the warranty but when I got it they told me just to take the car to the dealer as usual and let them diagnose and fix the problem. We will see as this the first car I am insuring with them and it will be a few years before I will need to use it.

Apart from their MBI, how is Geico's insurance for collision and comprehensive? Are they good about paying? I got a quote that's about $400 less per year than State Farm.

Just curious, what are the dealers asking for an extended warranty for the M5?

I should be getting delivery of mine before the end of the year. My car is at port in Baltimore waiting for winter tires to be installed...
