Yes they are decoded from the time you pick it up at Welt. I picked up my M4 a few years ago that had this through ED but they were not working while in Europe.

I did a euro delivery on my car and it still works here in the US since it was working in Europe. The vehicle comes here as a "tourist car" and is untouched until delivery so it doesn't go through another PDI here in the US otherwise I feel like they probably would have taken that feature off.
Are you sure about this? The decoding of this feature is part of the build and should appear in your build sheet. My experience is the opposite of what you are saying and have done 4 EDs so far.

It is code-able.
I rarely got that request since it is quite useful for safety.

On NIVI equipped cars, Dynamic Light Spot can also be enabled but requires ICOM interface to do so.
I'm so happy to read this, I coded this on my 2016 M4 and absolutely loved it.

I hope my dealer will know how to re-enable NGHB and NIVI spotting when I get delivery of my M5C in 2 weeks.

You can easily code the Euro speed limit sign instead of the boring white speed limit sign with E-Sys.

About time you are removing the active sound, haha.
A lot of guys doing it by unplugging, faster and easier than coding.
I think onfireX5 created a quick DIY on how to do that.

Lol, I know.
Lately I don't get mine own time in long stretches, always 10 min. here and there.
Having two kids and sick in lows doesn't help.

Even at work, want to machine something unique that I can put in mine car and I am super busy and can't do it

Also wanted to make mine own Springs to drop the front more and can't do it, short on people at work

That was my first ED. Do you think it might have to do with me picking up a First Edition M5 VS a regular M5?

Turn on auto high beam at night and see if it stays on and can still see far out when cars are approaching or you are approaching a car?

When you press the Auto High Beams button on the left stalk, you should see the high beams split around cars you follow and turn off for the cars coming at you.
They are also following much more your steering inputs.

The US version just turns on and off the high beams for you.

Noticed my dealer decoded this feature upon delivery looking at the window sticker... Now I'm afraid to try it out and blind people on accident!

There is no way you can blind people. Trust me, go ahead and try it, you will see what I am talking about

You won't blind anyone... Just look at the video I posted above in foggy conditions. You can clearly see where the high beams are aiming. Even more so that it's an official BMW dealer mod.

I have driven at least 30,000 km on these and, only rarely, I would get flashed by a too sensitive someone.

That someone probably being scared of all the light movements.

I've had a few sketchy encounters over it while using auto-cruise control. People can see that your high beams are on and think you're being a douche.
I've also been flashed a few times by oncoming traffic for the same reason.
That said, it's a super cool feature and I like it.

I don't think it is majorly caused by the Anti-Dazzle.
I have a lot of encounters where opposite traffic flash me since I started having a LED headlight.
Starting from my F15 X5, F10 AH5, F06 650GC, and now G30 540i.
My guessing, not a lot of people accustomed to headlight with all 4 lit.

5AP Decoding means crippled, two-stage system rather than dynamic tunneling.

Agree. Also have driven probably 60-70k miles plus with this in M4 and X5 that have this. Get flashed once in a blue moon maybe although as other posters say some are just sensitive to the LED's. I do agree that other drivers can sometimes see the blue high beam light on in your dashboard and I've had a beep once or twice. But I must say its an incredibly effective system and really makes the car that much better.
