Hardwire Radar Detector

So I’ve purchases an Escort Redline and I’d like to hardwire. Has anyone done this on the F90? I’d like to know where to tap power? Any DIY’s?

Thanks in advance!

I can’t tell you exactly, because I had it professionally tapped, but my installer said it was a pain in the ass.

I believe they ran it to the glove box to tap a source that is only on with ignition start not accessory on. It also powers down about 5 sec after engine is turned off.

Power outlet near cup holder powers down when car goes to sleep.

Installer spent most time tracing an immediate power up and down with engine ignition, and a source that wouldn’t throw a code with the slight power draw.

It can be done. I spent $200. Well worth it.

I just got done getting mine done. Had to go the glove box. Tried tapping into mirror at first but the radar detector would not power down when the car is off.

Bump. Anyone removed the overhead console to get a wire tap or mirror tap installed?
