Individual color question

So, with individual colors, are the choices set in stone based on the visualizer (https://visualizer.bmw-individual.com/), or can any color BMW has used in the past be ordered?

if any previous color is possible, is there like a dedicated individual group you deal with?

thanks!

Birch Green used to be in there for the M5 but not now. That would seem to indicate they at least update that visualizer.

bmw indiv is a process as follows.

you can submit ANY color you want
bmw indiv will either accept or decline (if they accept they will give you a price)
if its a color they have never done the price will be higher (there is a R&D charge that usually is added onto the paint cost)
if the color has been done it will be standard price (usually roughly 5k)

thats the process.

best way is to find a dealer who sells a lot of individual orders as they usually can be the best to help in these types of situations

Ask a different dealer that does more volume...

who said no? the dealer?

i find it odd they would decline YMB, it's a bmw color already anyway. only thing i can think as to why is maybe because the "new" m5 isn't able to have that yet? Not sure.

My father didd the first Signal Green F90 last year. No issues.

my sa said the regional rep said it was not possible. apparently there was only 1 ymb m5 in Europe as of like mid 2019 so who knows what their thought process is.

I loved ymb on my F80 which is why I asked them in the first place.

it's a bit of a bummer but then again change is good. who knows, I may like the new color even better, and saving the cost of individual paint isn't a bad thing.

I have a week 28 build confirmed for a 21 m5c

Agree - bummer, considering there are definitely YMBs out there:

Did your rep contact BMWNA and received a no from them or just saying no because the process can be bothersome? I know my rep sells a high volume of cars and individual ones with ease...I was told pick a color and lets start the process....

from what my sales person said, the regional rep shot it down. looking at how many YMB non-M3s are out there, it seems super rare.

That sucks your regional rep is lazy. BMW is willing to make the color you want as long as the check clears.

yea at first i was a bit sad, but then i dont know of YMB is the right color for an M5. looking forward to a change up with Donington!

from what i can tell theres like 4 UMB M5s. is that because people dont like the color on an M5, or BMWNA does not want to do it?

i can always switch back the next time i get one.
