I have an M5 CS on order with a dealer but am having second thoughts after finding out a few things the car no longer has. I am coming from an '19 M5 Comp and I love the stock exhaust, the pops, etc, I just love the way it sounds.

I recently found oiut the M5 CS has been toned down a lot and no longer has these pops and what not. So I have asked my dealer if its possible to swap out the comp exhaust and put it on the CS and putting the CS exhaust on the comp.

Just wanted to get anyone's thoughts here before my dealer comes back with an answer. If they are fully swappable, also just wanted to check to see if I'll even get the desired result.

I have been trying to find videos and clips of an M5 CS with any aftermarket exhaust but since the car is so new I am not really finding much. Besides putting the comp exhaust on the CS, does anyone know of any clips with any non stock exhaust on a CS model?

Are you sure? From what I've seen, it's because the exhaust is completely different. The comp has the titanium M performance exhaust, rather than CS doesn't. I'm not saying you're wrong, just trying to verify. I don't want to get the car, put either the comp exhaust on it or spend money on an aftermarket exhaust only to find out it doesn't do what I want.

the m5 m performance exhaust sounds brolic, that titanium sound and those metallic pops in sports plus its gonna sound amazing look at this

I have a M5C now so I know what it sounds like, but I'm not sure if mine is a titanium exhaust. It's whatever came with the car in 19. I never had the option in to pick titanium from what I recall.

The first responder in this thread said it's tuning and not the exhaust that gives those sounds, so just trying to figure out if that's correct or not.

The m5 competition does not have the same exhaust as m performance. m5 comp has an m sports exhaust which guts out the resonator this is why you didn't have titanium option. the m5 m performance exhaust sounds really mean and will have pops. as far as tuning goes idk on the cs its to early to tell but this exhaust will certainly have it be loud and way louder than your completion and will sound nice inside the cs too since they remove some sound deadening on the cs.
i had a mppsk m performance power and sound kit on my 340i and honestly they sound amazing

Basically I just want to keep the pops and what not. The CS does not have those sounds. Do you think if I swap my M5C exhaust to the CS, it will retain the sounds? That's all I really want to know.

neglible difference between cs exhaust and competition its literally just the resonator just a bit gutted the m performance exhaust would have a much higher chance giving you the desired pops and bangs

Yeah but I'm trying not to spent $7,000 if I don''t have to.

The M5C I have now sounds great and I love it, there's no reason it wouldn't sound at least the same on a CS though right?

depends on the cs stock map and how their burble tuning works I'm assuming it should be similar if not identical but I cant be certain I have nor drove a m5 cs or even heard its extremely rare lmao
