We made a total of 5 runs and after each run tweaks were made. Had to back off the boost as my gamma intakes we’re creating a little extra boost causing a slight knock.

The car pulls so hard and just doesn’t stop. I am sure it would start dropping off but prob never experience it at those speeds. The install took 5 mins, the Bluetooth app is pretty cool. Can switch tunes or boost levels on your phone in seconds. The previous RC had to be opened to change the settings

Overall very pleased with the RC. I have a problem of always wanting more and had moved on from RC to bm3 on my other cars. Not sure if I will go full tune on the m8. Right now it doesn’t feel I need anymore power
Congrats!

Do you have any timing data, e.g. from a Dragy or the like?

They flew out to create a tune? RC just tricks the MAP sensors into allowing more boost, I'm not sure why they would not use the M5 logic being the same engine.

How did they ID a knock? did you get a knock code or notice a timing drop? 91 octane?

Do you know what its using for the additive by chance?

They flew out to create another product for their line. He had another appointment for a Dodge Demon also. So the intentions where somewhat to their benefit but of course I did also. I had run a Race Chip before with some mods and was cel issues once a while on my other cars. The stock tunes they provide should be for stock cars. Once you start messing with other stuff you could have issues. So my “custom tune” was just to mirror and compliment my mods. I threw a check engine light. Like to correct my first statement of engine knock. It was overboost code. Wasn’t a hard code and did go away but really happy that they were their and could modify the tune ever so slightly so I wanted have issues later

It’s a piggy back. Not looking for every drop of power. Don’t take the car to the track. What I have now with my other mods is perfect

So I finally got around to playing with my draggy and RC (see my other threads), but for those interested here is my comparison of stock vs. RC on map 7.

Car setup: non-comp M5, Sport+ everything, 1/2 tank of 93 (RC run) / 1/4 tank of 93 (stock run), Pirellis w/ 50%+/- tread.

Stock (60-130):

RC on map 7 (60-130):

For me RC was the best option. I know that the JB4 can get way more out of the car, but I simply don't want to push it to the edge. I just wanted a moderate performance boost that's "plug and play", and the RC did not disappoint.

Thanks again Ben for helping me out!!

Oh for those that care, here's my best 0-60 so far with the RC. Bear in mind that my tires aren't the most optimal (soon will be ordering my PS4s), and I am not the best at launching the car. However, I am slowly getting better and my times are def coming down.

Thank you very much for sharing the information.

Are these RC numbers that different from what other M5 Comp. owners are seeing stock (even on 91 octane)? Just curious.

Thanks again!

Hi all. I bought used a RC Black GTS and can definitely feel the gains. Question I had was did anyone else who has an exhaust notice it to be much louder after the install?

I have a full catback and charcoal delete on map 7 it sounds so loud. Sounds like I have intakes or something or the exhaust is screaming. I don’t think it’s an exhaust leak, but it definitely is much louder with the RC.

Ben said it’s normal. More boost more sound but wanted to check with you guys on here. TIA

Had some issues with mine after only 3 months. Car had 3 CELs with P12B7. Some injector issues in cylinder 3. Did a battery drop and removed tune. No issues since. Don’t want to push my luck and reinstall until I know more. Anyone have the issue. Wasn’t even driving with the thing in, was turned off on BT app mode. Still had issues off. Rarely had it on for the 3 months too.

It was mounted to the metal strut brace (Assuming that’s what it is) the air boxes go through. Is there a correlation between mount location and throwing CELs?

Not the mounting place.
I want to see the harness connections.

Yes, ran fine. Had a few CELs for the gas cap loose. Which was odd, but wasn’t concerned. Then I threw a code for the injector. Cleared it, happened again about 5 days later. Then progressively got worse, constant cel after clearing. Car started running really poorly, surging and lagging. Almost died a few times. Removed the tune and unplugged the battery for a day. Haven’t had an issue since.

That is weird that CEL for Injector.
You may have defective Injector.
With higher boost, means more fuel, and your injector can't open up enough to put more fuel.
It is nothing to do with the RaceChip directly.
If you follow my instruction on the first post, then you do install it correctly.
But, picture on your installation will confirm it.
You'll be surprised that some plug it in into O2 sensor connector, even though the installation instruction is available publicly.

Just wanted to post a quick update here. So DA here has been utter shit lately, but I was able to actually get in a few runs. These runs were done with LC and leaving around 2500 RPMs. My settings are as follows:
  • Non-comp M5
  • 4WD (not 4WD Sport)
  • Suspension: Comfort
  • Transmission: S3
  • Steering: Sport Plus
  • DSC: Off
  • Tires: Pirellis w/ 2/32nd on the rears (I know, new tires are on order) and 8/32nd on the fronts
  • Gas: 7/8ths of a tank 4 gals of E85 and 16 gals of 93
  • Total weight (including gas and driver): 4648
  • RC GTS on map 7
