I would say - 991.1 if you are going for heavier mods.
991.2 - if you are staying stock = but I would wait until after or near the 992.1 release to allow for some value hit to take place.
992.1 if you are keeping and not modding. It is going to be a low 10 second car (10.2 at least out of the box) at 135-138 MPH car.

Subscribed!
Yeah I am keeping the car. I have ordered the 992.1, but if the 991.2 takes a massive hit, I might get one. Will see. Like both cars a lot.

The 991.1 is pretty good, but I rather have a more updated car, given I am hopping from the F90

I have M5C and 991.2TTS, I am aware of 991.1TTS and 991.2TT as drove some, 10000% get the 991.2 over the 991.1, doesnt matter if going to keep FBO or hunt for bigger HP.

Few things to consider:
- improved looks exterior - drl, taillight, bumpers etc
-improved looks interior, steering wheel is a piece of art compared to 2010 cayenne style in 991.1
- new ECU with antilag function
- new pdk tune (gt3 style) with some minor upgrades too
- new intake manifold
- wheels are nicer (depends on actual car)
- NEWER car
- new multimedia interface including apple car play
- you can easily add just the 991TTS turbos later on, or... GT2RS turbos

if you track on a circuit the car is so much better than 991.1
also LC is way, way better than 991.1
Yeah the feedback is pretty much unanimous in favour of the 991.2. I have ordered a 992.1, but if the 991.2 takes a massive depreciation hit, I will take the 991.2

My dealer knows me so they allowed me to push the car on the express way and some unique back roads; the car is fast and capable of great street performance as I would not track it. I agree the .2 Turbo S is of course the faster car but I am in for the new chassis and interior (if I get the car at all )
Yeah the 992 is better. I quite liked it.
But I would have a 991.2 Turbo S over a non Turbo 992 any day of the week.

Yes sir, different strokes for different needs and wants. The 992, If I grab one will be a 12 month car and then the 992.1 Turbo S will be my 6th Porsche Turbo. I dont have patience and the 992 deal Im getting is pretty special.

Conversely, I can get around 42k off a brand new GT63S. A few guys have done the stage 1 ECU tune and are popping off 10.6 at 129 quarters. Its never gonna be as fast as heavily modded M5 but the tune aspect has me thinking cause the car itself is bad ass (polarizing but I like it)

If it is a 992 S with all performance options, than it is worth it.

RWS, PDCC, Sport Chrono, Sport Exhaust, PDK--- these are the main ones. No Carbon Ceramics but the Irons do a great job.

Picked up my 7th and final 991 today. The 992 is great and can't wait to see how it evolves but the 991s will always be special for me.

Well if you want to start adding in modded Turbo S's the point 1 platform has even faster.

How would you compare the daily driver comfort of your GT2RS to a TTS ?

I like a few features on the GT2RS over the TTS. Tried a GT3RS, but REALLY hated the fixed seats.

Also spent some time in a Taycan. I’m not an EV guy, but the Taycan is a killer ride. Launch Control is very easy to do. It was a Turbo , so 2.5 - 2.6 zero to 60mph. Extremely well built. Rear view mirror visibility is compromised, but that’s why the cameras exist. Porsche hits another home run.

I just got a brand new 2019 M5 and 2020 X7. Adding a 992 Turbo S to the 3rd garage in a couple of years. I wish BMW had a true 911 competitor as I don't wish to cross brands (and learn a different system). *♂️

BMW has the components. BMW has publicly stated they will not compete with the 911. Very strange.

An AWD M2 with full leather and the M5 engine would put them “there”.

Lets see how the M3 AWD does first.

I don’t think the M3 is going to be 3600 lbs. An F80 Competiton with Dct was about 3750. Add awd, a heavier ZF auto, more tech and equipment and I think it’s going to be 3900-4000 lbs.
The 992S with only 440 hp is running 11.2@125 mph and more impressive are the track times. I imagine the M3 with 100 more hp might be close in a straight line but will not be the nimble, agile and fast track car the 992 is.
BMW has tried to compete with the likes of the 911 in the M4 GTS and despite huge advantages like cup tires and 80 hp and 100 tq it was no faster than a base 991.2 if you equal out tires and well off the pace of an S let alone anything higher up.

Haven't spent much time at all with a TT s yet but I will say the GT 2 RS is very stiff. It would be a tough daily for me.

I wrote this earlier and just saw this tune option... what do you think will be my gains in trap speed if the crank numbers below are legit from GIAC (Ive used their tunes before along with Cobb) on a 992 that traps 124-125 at 11.1- I ask cause Im not looking for a 130 plus trapper for the short run but something that would be comparable to my F90 with Race Chip for my personal driving experiences.

Extremely tough to guess since the boost psi is sloping off towards factory up top. Some more timing (to a point) could help flatten that slope and help it up top .

As is....possibly 0.4 tenths and 4 mph is the Vegas guess

Would be a solid 4/4 if the slope didn't exist.
