Well that is not true....Why? Because we had a TEST DRIVE car and based on THAT car we dacided to buy M5 which sounded like the car in the link. So there is no need to explicitly mention anything

Good luck in court with that argument.

Thank you. At least we will try. And BMW could appreciate our effort through reputation points which will surely be achieved... For legal departments and members of management it is always favourite part of day to discuss ongoing trials initiated by disapointed customers...

Don’t get me wrong, I’m entirely sympathetic to your case, I just don’t think it would hold in court. Regardless of that, I truly wish you luck. Keep us posted.

I have finally also sent my claim to BMW customer service following recommendation from my dealer last Friday. Very little hope they even reply to me honestly and if they do probably a standard reply like we can't do anything about it.
Still waiting for my plates anyway so I can't even be mad about it as I cant drive it

Well since you live in EU you should know your rights.....Yes that is a good argument. Does the new car not differ from the test drive car? We cant make a case with BMW but deffinetlly with BMW dealers who sold us the car sure we can

Ok, so I picked up my ID6 F90 yesterday.

I still have the pops and burbles - all necessary updates were done for the car.

I was told that in Switzerland they will not punish the driver for having a pre ID7 car by also muffling them. Guess I am lucky!

So it took BMW over a month to acknowledge my email, but I finally got the generic reply assigning a ticket number and so on, so there is hope for a reply at least. A positive one I doubt

In the end it was positive, I finally got the official mail from BMW, they will pay me back the sport exhaust since it makes no more sound, so that is something at least ! I hope others in the thread had a positive outcome as well

I'd be pissed! I love my crackles and pops. I only do it when around sport car lovers tho.

Solved (partially)

It took almost 3 months but there are some results:
  1. BMW Czech Rep. replied and confirmed quieter sound of post july 2019 cars
  2. BMW Czech Rep. offered us compensation of costs that we invested to M Sport Exhausts
See PDF documents bellow. It is still a sad story because our goal was to have cars with proper backfires and burbles not to save money on sport exhausts. But at least we don’t feel to be ripped off by manufacturer who doesn’t care.

Getting a full software update today...be interesting to see if my (UK) car still retains the burbles and backfires.
To be honest I'm rather hoping they will be gone.

My car was Sept 19 build and didn't have the crackles and pops and didn't sound any different after the software upgrade and running in service.
