There is at least two ways of analyzing it.
1. Practically, I would not beat on the car and use LC until it was changed and not worry about up to 2000 miles. 2. Politically, I worried that BMW might mess with the warranty (even though they are 100% at fault) and parked mine since I did not need it. |

With my F10 M5 I had a trip from Phoenix to Vegas planned. I asked my service advisor if I should get the 1200 mile service done early or late (mileage wise) and he said to come in after the trip was no problem at all.

Interesting to see the different opinions from the service advisors. For my 1200, I was chatting with the SA and he said to make sure that I bring in the car before 1200. He said to even try to schedule things around the 1000 mile mark. After 1200 miles, it sets off some red flags with BMW. How much beyond 1200 is the threshold, I'm not sure.
