Lol - either people have very little experience with modding - or racing or both. Asking why the M5 “did so poorly”. Both cars are modded. ES motors has the record for Porsche’s in the modded world. 997 Turbos are already quick.

You can not compare modded to stock people.

Add to the fact - the M5 is a luxury, family sedan that weighs 4300+ lbs and isn’t supposed to compete with these cars. Even when they are stock.

As I posted in the dupe thread, its just entertainment. Im not sure how any one can get their panties in a bunch over apples and oranges races.

The only true apples to apples race would be the same brand and model car at the same time and even then one could be faster just because it was built on Sunday

I could tune my trackhawk to run with those as well....I don't see the point....other than hey you can do this for $100k. At least the ///M still has a warranty on it!

Trackhawk in the 9s @ 138mph, mods are not that crazy either, will run low 10s without the nawz.

M5 did well here given the competition.

Strange that some would twist this as a negative result. This is a luxury sedan with a full warranty.

This race was for shits and giggles - it's clearly not meant to be a "fair" competition. 0.0 people are cross-shopping an M5 with a tuned 997 TTS or GTR.

Unless your GTR is modded - it and the GT3 are slower in a straight line. In a roll - even worse for the GTR - GT3 is pretty even. On a road course - the M5 wouldn’t show poorly to a GTR - the GT3 would beat it badly.

So - it bad for a 16+ foot 4300 lb four door luxury GT sedan.

The overall road feel, excitement ,and driving pleasure of the GTR and GT3 far exceed that of the new M5 for me. Yes, purely a subjective feel thing, differs for each enthusiast I realize—

Wow. Had you said the GT3 I would have understood. But the GTR? I’m a fan - believe me - but excitement and driving pleasure in the GTR? It’s an instrument in my opinion - but super involving it is not - at least not stock.

To your point it’s all subjective - so it’s moot anyway.

Definitely moot, subjective, not much of anything else but the GTR is an absolute blast to drive. Always look forward to it and it never gets old!

I can’t say it’s not fun to drive - but it sounds like a vacuum cleaner and it’s heavy. Can sounds like a mechanical clock with burrs and whistles - cannot handle slow speed manueuvers.

Again - it’s subjective...
