Those Plaids are pretty fast

I encountered a new Tesla Plaid recently, and I have to say, its performance is rather impressive. It was amazing how he walked away like the F90 was stuck in 3rd gear. He was a super nice chap, too. Lots of fun was had.

Would that sway me to look more at Tesla? No. I do prefer the V-8, and I smile every time I start my F90. It's just always great when you meet like-minded folks, and there are just not that many cars that easily walk away from the F90. Happy Sunday, all!

Tesla has been dropping prices. I think the base for a Plaid is now $90k. Incredible performance value! I could see myself getting into monitoring the charge and planning where to stop on trips. Might be a good distraction and help ensure that I stop before I get tired. But I don’t plan to buy another car for at least a couple of years and who knows what will be available then.

Race details was it from a dig? Did you use launch control or brake boost it?

How many lengths did it gap you by and from what speed.

They are super quick and very fast 1/4 mile but not same level in terms of overall performance being on a road course and fit and finish is second rate in the Telsa.

My neighbor had me miss 20 mins of the Knicks game talking my ear off about his Tesla's paint being poor, the wheels chipping, the bumper falling off, the falcon doors being misaligned and scraping on the trim, the windshield breaking bc it was glued incorrectly... He had the egg looking one. Begged me never to get one. He had about a million other complaints as well.

yea, don't try racing them unless yours is heavily tuned or you are willing to go to jail for reckless driving to take advantage of them unable to accelerate as well above 120.

So play with them — bait them and creep up to 120 as you pace each other and then take off and see if they can reel you in? Even in no prep mode, an S Plaid will run away from an M5, even a nicely modded one. A built engine M5 tuned for E85 could probably hang with one.

I find most Plaid owners to be very cool. Some Model 3 owners are something else though. Put that and the new 3 Performance figures together, not a pretty picture.
