My 2021 E63 with a CPC tune was exceptionally resilient to heatsoaking. This was accomplished with running the intercooler pumps all the time the moment it's hit a certain temperature.

I wonder if this can be done on the M5/8s?
In BM3, there is an option to manually activate the cooling system to work at MAX. I’m assuming that means a tuner could edit your tune to do the same.

So the weather is beginning to somewhat normalize here. The car feels a bit better but not as strong as I’m expecting. My convertible M6 Comp seemed to have less lag and more immediate push than my non-comp ‘18 M5. Larger turbos and AWD causing this sensation?

Here’s a data log from when I gunned it at 5mph off a toll booth in 90ish degree weather with humidity. https://bootmod3.net/log?id=64ecf427c090c6c83dae53ac

The draggy time is my second attempt at doing a 0-60 with just brake boost, no LC. I did upshift early at a little past 6k during 1-2. 60ft. was 1.80. I changed plugs and air filters as those were due at my mileage (40k).

Any input? For the log, two things that concerned me was the boost pre throttle and timing corrections. The boost seems to miss the target at around 1-3 psi, but the wgdc seems normal so a boost leak is out of the question? The car does pull timing by 3 degrees at WOT across the board and there was one knock detected.

Larger turbos and lack of DCT make it feel less instant on throttle

Heat can cause boost targets to be missed. Doesn't seem like the ECU thinks anything is wrong, and having timing pulled can affect a host of other factors not just reduced power.
It's hot and your octane rating isn't keeping up. But I think it's normal for this car especially if you are running stock boost

Edit: Just noticed you are not running stock boost. Might want to retard the timing slightly in your tune.

The car is on a stock tune, according to BM3. I’m already using 93 from BP and reset adaptions a few hundred miles ago, do I need to start using a gallon of ethanol maybe? Would that be ok on the stock tune?

Interestingly I just upgraded from a G80 M3 and maybe because it has been really warm recently, my G80 felt like it pulled much harder. I need to get a dragy to confirm but I was a little underwhelmed. I thought there might be a noticeable difference, but maybe the G80 was that underrated as it has been discussed.

I'm wondering how hard this is on the car's cooling system

the G80 i drove felt really slow to me. granted, it was a manual, but still. felt barely faster than an M340i which feels like a regular car

I did this to both my AMGs and one I even had to 85k miles without any issues.
I may custom tune my M8 just to be able to do this lol, it made that much of a difference!!!

I installed the 90C thermostat and selected the added cooling option in BM3 or JB4 or XHP, I forget which, that reduces the coolant temp, at least in sport plus mode, I am guessing by changing the electronic thermostat setting and running the fans more. I also run water/meth injection to help make 95F days more like 75F days.

Yes very much so! Especially on 2 or 3 back to back runs. The M5/8 gives up power between runs
