Hi everyone, I want to up the power of my car, so I went ahead and bought the dinan piggyback tune. My question is whether I have to run catless primaries due to the increased power. I’d rather not do that yet because i live in California. Also, has anyone had negative experiences with piggybacks, not asking about warranty but just general issues such as random codes.

I’m running RaceChip GTS piggyback with othrwise stock car. No issues for the past two years, works great!

I also live in Massachusetts like California is apain the ass with emissions and no issues there.

Lastly, it was plug and play I did it myself took about 30 minutes.

My understanding is that Dinan and Carbahn both use racechip as their piggyback. Mike at XPH, who has experience with racechip and sells a lot of them for these cars, just posted what each GTS Black F90 map does when sold by Racechip. Not sure whether Dinan and Carbahn detune the maps so they can offer a warranty without fear the uninformed user will misuse them.

If you use a proven brand and the recommended maps, the likelihood of any issues is extremely slim

You do not have to use downpipes when tuning your car.
