Next thing, the M5 is fast in the quarter because it has 4wd and matches the Ford GT to 60mph because of that. If you look at their numbers for higher speeds you will see the GT is much faster. Some of that will be due to drag and frontal area but from 60-100mph there is a 0.6 second speed difference which is quite a bit.

I think this is much more realistic:

Unfortunately they haven't done an F90 Competition review yet.
Not sure I would compare this to the Ford GT as that is a 2 seater and this is a mid size car that seats 5 and can serve as a daily driver grocery getter as well as haul ass. The GT is a lighter car so it probably has more top end speed especially if it dosen't have a limiter or it can go over 200 mph while the bimmer probably has a limiter as it wasn't tested to go that fast and probably loses some acceleration anyway due to power to weight ratio.

The F90 Comp would be what I would categorise as a Super Sedan and not a Supercar. The power and 0 to 62mph times are befitting of a supercar but 62mph onwards, that's where supercars shine though I would still think that the F90 Comp is a highly capable sports car with motorsports DNA but I would still think that the F90 Comp is a GT car rather than an outright sports car. The M3/M4 on the other hand is more of a sports car in my opinion. Note power is not everything but the handling and nimbleness of the car is where the M3/M4 shines and even the M2 Comp. Very fun and nice car around tight corners.

I know the numbers gives people something to talk about, but where can you go 200 MPH?

Not even on a track can you reach 200 mph; unless your Indy or Daytona...

For a car I think 160 is fast enough; for me it's driving dynamics!

On a sport bike you can reach 180 mph in about 16 seconds; equivalent to a super slow 1/4 mile time for a suv.

After 16 seconds you are traveling a lot of distance for running at 160+

I remember the benchmark used to be 5 sec 0 to 60 and 100 mph trap for 1/4 mile...

The performance of the M5 is outstanding; especially considering it's a 5 seater family super saloon!

Why do they say it reaches 25.9psi max boost? That's pretty far off.

We all know that in a drag race against the Ford GT, the M5 would cross the finish line while the GT would spin tires for 5-6 seconds and then mysteriously teleport upside-down into a ditch. 😂

There's no such thing as too much horsepower, only not enough German.

Agree with all of that except that it would be mysterious.
