No matter the tune I see that in 5th and 6th gear

weird man. was going to ask you since you now have several ecu files to look at. wonder why the car does it....and it's odd mine starts to decay in 4th, and yours starts to decay in 5th. this is way above my pay grade, but would love to know why the car does it

I realize most tunes turn off cat warmup and cat related CEL but are they also manipulating inferred cat temps and/or turning off cat overtemp functionality? If the ECM thinks the cats are getting hot it can take measures to cool them (even if there aren't any installed), this usually takes place after sustained load as described.

Those are interesting questions/statements that I would like to know more about for sure.

I know the JB4 has a modeled EGT function it uses as part of its boost control routine. Not sure how it's set or how the flash guys are handling it.

EGT are typically measured before the turbo and therefore before the cat as well, usually separate data from cat temp. but I am asking not telling since I am not completely familiar with BMW's calibration logic.

There are no EGT sensors on the vehicle, the DME models EGT to enrich AFR as modeled EGT increases, and the JB4 has a similar algorithm in parallel used for it's targeting. As to how the flash tuners handle those corrections it would vary wildly based on the flash I presume.

Agreed, I was just trying to clarify that EGT and Cat Temps are two different measurements, whether measured or modeled. My question was specifically regarding Cat Temps.

I did change them once and I used the stock plugs but gapped them 22-24.

Hi did you go with OEM plugs or One-Step colder?

I need to start thinking about plugs. I'm nearing 10k on the car. I've been running a stage 2 e30 for about 3k.

Thanks

Nothing guaranteed however I do notice that as the run goes on the IATs go up and the boost goes down. Could have something to do with it. Post intercooler Meth can help with this but times won't change much

I was annoyed enough that I gave it another shot. Considering I didn't have a great great DA and it's warmer out. DME just keeps charging!

I broke all 3 of those records again.. lmao

I can't imagine if I pulled the seats and had a prepped track on 20" wheels!
Congrats 9.89 stock turbos is a fantastic result.
