PS: I thought the Comps were introduced with the '19 MY; clearly not the case... is yours a late '18 MY?

Maybe the Competition came in '19 but is still a MY18. AFAIK there is no MY19... only from June 2019 the MY20. Or am I wrong?

My last M5 Comp was '19 MY; current is '20. As I understand it, the first M5s were released as '18 MYs followed logically by the 19s with which they introduced the Comps.

Ok... aaaaah snap... is the MY19 the one with no changes except the OPF? In that case mine is a MY19.

Right, no changes that I know of other than the Comp model being added (I thought OPF was more recent, though).

All this depends on the country...

A MY19 in the US is a 2018 in Germany, etc. Goes by actual year

I know, right! We do the same in England... in that the MY aligns with the calendar year (or it did when I lived there but that was quite a few decades back). Here in the States, the next model year is introduced mid-way through the current year... probably the effect of endless attempts to market and up-sell the next best thing.

PS: but your sig line is still strange; must be something bimmerpost.com is doing, concatenating two fields you've filled in or the like I suspect.

So basically the rim is very similar to a BBS FI-R, even though the bbs will probably be lighter, more durable, and sexier, well done BMW, lol.

Been trying to order those wheels for two months, initially in the system and my cost around $4000 which is fantastic but now BMW has removed them and put a hold. My guess is production or cost.

Exactly my thoughts
Unless the OEM rims are much cheaper, I see no reason to go for them! The design of the BBS FI-R is much better executed. E.g. the wholes in the bars in the OEM rims look like a cheap stamp out ...
