Low stall torque converter making passengers feel ill

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hey everyone,

Have a 2020 M5 comp on order. Was recently a passenger for a ride mostly around the city in a friends 2019 comp. In transmissions setting 2 and 3, I felt very nauseous. I couldn't wait to get out of the car.

I mentioned it to him and he was aware of this. Said that the trans needs to be used in the lowest setting to avoid any passengers feeling this way.

Has anyone experienced this or have any thoughts?

Thanks for reading!

David

2019 M5 Comp here and zero issues ...

In fact, my 75 y/o mom, who suffers from motion sickness, has been in my car many times and never a peep. Mind you, I drive in Sport +, S3 and manual all of the time including when she's in the car.

Lots of other passengers including my wife and 3 kids w/ no issues or complaints of motion sickness.

Not sure how the owner drives nor any other mode info... if he's received other complaints maybe it's him.

These cars can be very tame if you so choose .....

The F90 has almost no engine breaking, especially in anything above 2nd gear. Unless your friend was accelerating and then braking quite often, I don't see how you'd get motion sickness in the F90, regardless of the transmission setting.

Never had an issue or had anybody complain to me about that in my M5.

It must be the driver, and his style of driving. I have a friend with X3 M40i and he drove me around 2 times, and both times I felt sick, one of the trips we took was more than an hour long, and by the time I got out of his car I was green and ready to puke. He treats his accelerator as ON and OFF switch, same with his brakes.... never again going for a ride with him lmao!

So you are inferring that passenger should potentially feel ill during a mostly leisurely ride in a 'performance car' due to a type of transmission.. I see. Have you ever been passenger in a manual 'performance car' with someone who cannot shift well I guess that would be 'weird' too?

You drive an MB but just stay here trolling and not adding value? Evidently too much time on your hands.
