I have the 1st deposit at my dealer on one. I too am surprised with no pricing or build options. I usually won't order black cars, but that blacked out Avant above is really peaking my interest.
I just bought a used M5 to hold me over till it comes out, but I may have a hard time making the switch once it comes in. I have been seriously impressed with the M5 so far. |

I do find it interesting that Audi has the RS3 platform - that is literally the new GTR with all of the development going on - already in the 8's - and yet the RS4,5,6, and 7 need a performance bump. I am seriously considering the new M3 (despite what may be the worst front end in automotive history) - and that is because there are no competitors; the RS5 is slow - and the new C63S is apparently going to be a four cylinder hybrid. Yet the RS3 with fairly minimal investment relative to the overall price will smash my M5CE.
I can't believe I need to write this, but I am hoping Audi does something for their higher tier cars. |

There is an RS3 local to me on stock turbos FBO/E85 running 10.0's at 139 MPH. That is quicker and faster than any modded F90 I know of. I agree the smaller displacement will make single turbo setups not very street friendly, but mid 10's on pump at low 130's is pretty solid on stock turbos (as is the spool). RS5 is super slow - I don't understand it.

Granted, the RS3's current accolades are nothing short of mind-blowing but--and I stress this--an RS3 is an entirely different laser-focused weapon and could not be much farther from the bottom of my shopping list. The M5 is a swiss-army knife... and I fear I've beaten that analogy to a pulp so time to stop. If your point leans more toward the higher-end Audi S (forget them, they're diesels now) and/or RS cars, then, yes--I hope some of the RS3's DNA makes it in there since, with or without it, an RS7 will almost certainly be on my driveway within the next couple of years. For now, though, a 4500 Ib family sedan that'll take on Lambos, Ferraris and Porsches with virtually home-made mods makes me smile daily. GTnedio's 10.15 on the street is nothing to be scoffed at. |

Which is why I stated, I can't believe I am writing this - but it would be great if Audi threw a performance bone to their RS4-7's (especialy the RS4-5's) so I could potentially consider one in the future versus the gaping maw of what may be the next M3/M4 because right now the C63 is apparently becoming a four cylinder hybrid and the RS5 is slow (I think the M550ix may be quicker). Although I prize my all rounders - straight line speed is a biggy for me. As you know - I am not modding any of my cars - so how it comes from factory stock is equally a biggy for me. And although handling, braking and drive are all important components - that grunt makes the car much more enjoyable which doing the above. And - being honest - running 10.8's at nearly 130 MPH - and knowing no other competitor car is in that range - is nice. |

By the way, I didn't take your post as disparaging to the M5–I misinterpreted it as an apples-to-oranges comparison. My bad. |

Don't do it VT... putting that kind of HP into those small cars is just problems waiting to happen. Been down the road many times with some oddball toys. My Evo (600 to the wheels on first tune before NOS) broke every time I drove it. One thing after another. Built in CA and shipped to New Jersey for tuning more than once. Keep the V8 friend! It takes more than you think to pull a mid 10 or lower from an RS3 and it will drive horrible with a big turbo on it. My EVO was sooooo slow at low RPM..haha I could run faster

lol that I did
Funny thing, what made me build that car was I was in one of my exotics and I got beat in a little light to light street race by a Subaru. I was furious.. So I wanted to build it's competitor the Evo and have the fastest one around. It was fast alright, no argument there.. lol Fast right to the garage to fix something else.

Couple more weeks until we see it at the auto show here in LA... the US debut happened a few days ago in Malibu. You can find some videos of US spec cars on YouTube from that event
I still haven't seen anything about when it will actually be on sale |

I like the gray one.... thanks for posting.
Not that I need the space for business but its just another polarizing unit from Audi that differentiates itself in a way that I like but others not so much. Im going to assume it has a similar exhaust layout as my previous RS7's where they had a big suitcase resonator and second set of smaller ones running individually. When I did that with the RS7's- it changed the sound with more Db's and grunt. Might be a nice plug and play car as Im not a heavier modder. I just do the BPU's which is probably an exhaust mod and piggy tune. Audi is scary as fuck with their engine flagging.

They won't sell a ton of these so they'll feel unique, they'll sound great and they'll be fast enough (I tend to not mod at all anymore). If I can't talk myself in to daily driving a 992 and cramming kids in to that back seat for school dropoff, this may be my fallback option. Excited to check it out in the flesh. I think the little swoopy diffuser in the back might look a bit awkward in person but I hope not. |

Went and saw it at the LA Auto show... it really looks great. Its more subtle in person than I imagined. Maybe just because it was in an almost black color. Needs a color with contrast to look as aggressive as the red one above does.
Also... it seemed humongous in person. Wish it felt a bit more compact |
