Decisions, decisions..... Do we know when delivery of the comp edition models would be? I am in line for a July delivery of the first edition model and honestly don't want to go much past that, but I could be swayed if it's not much later.

for those folks, like me, we have been burned before by first model year runs. With rumors swirling about CP coming out the same year I don't see ANY reason not to wait another 5-6 months. So while there may be unhappy M5 owners they knew what they were getting into.

It just breaks my brain that people are whining about products being released TOO SOON - what world are we living in? I'd much rather have the option sooner rather than later.

Anybody who would be so obsessed about a production option with 25 more hp and some springy bits would have been searching the internet for news, and would have known (like absolutely every one of us that visits this forum regularly, including the complainers), that the competition package was coming out early this year.

No need for manufactured outrage.

Hey guys I really hope they delay the 8 series a year so that I can enjoy the other car I bought for longer - this doesn't make sense aside from people who want to delay progress so their thing can be the "prettiest" for as long as possible.

Thanks. I almost wonder if the comp package will be too harsh for a daily driver? That is one of the reasons I bought the 570GT over the 570S.

Do we know if the comp edition only comes in one color scheme?
It's all subjective, but the only time I consider my CP too harsh is when I hop in the Macan and drive it in the Comfort setting. It's like driving a cloud on rails. But I never feel like the CP car is harsh when I'm driving it, and I don't think the F90 CP will be any more harsh. Likely less so if anything.

Likewise - I don't know why they dictate Frozen Silver for a color. Are we all sure colors can be changed? Could you get a First Edition model in a color other than Frozen Red?

... but you didn't an M5 at release, did you? you weren't an "early adopter," were you? And you did know that the competition pack was coming early for this model, didn't you? So why the manufactured outrage all of a sudden?

It just seems to water down their new platform launch. Meh, grumpy..
I own an M2. BMW just did the same thing to me with the M2 Competition. #Me Too

CP is a regular production model so I'm sure color can be changed.

Interestingly, they go out of their way to say it's not a "package". I wonder how customizable it really is.

It just means it's now a separate segment like RS7 and RS7 performance or E63 and E63S. RS7 Performance's extra power and other tunings doesn't show up as an option for RS7, you either order RS7 or RS7 performance.

When you look at the cost premium of the competition model over the base model the difference is $7,400. The F10 Comp Package cost $7,300. I obviously don't know for sure, but I'd be surprised if a frozen individual paint color and full leather interior is included. My guess is that is the chosen configuration for the "launch vehicle", and they are pointing out in the marketing materials that those features are optional extras. Just one man's guess.

Correct, its now built into the msrp vs an option on the monroney sticker.

This is 100% the reason...they don't like to have an "outdated" model. But this is very typical for BMW. If you want a performance car that doesn't change go get a hellcat or a vette. Or a car that has limited production buy a Gt500 or GT350, Ford typically only has these specialty cars out for 2 MY's and then goes dark for 5 years before they release a new version.

BMW is like Apple, you can expect a newer updated model almost every year, and then a major refresh every 5-7 years

Next time do your homework, and see what is coming on the horizon, and ask yourself if you can wait for the next best thing. But i promise if you wait, BMW will have something else they are announcing and you might want to wait for that instead and it will be an endless cycle.

My guess is if you can afford a $110k car, you can afford to take a depreciation hit and get the updated model, and actually BMW is banking on you doing this and why they make these model changes each year.

If you dont like this business model, go with a different manufacturer. But please stop complaining about it..........

"M Competition" graphic in instrument cluster on startup ?! 🙄

The fact that this is highlighted at all speaks volumes about how far the priorities of the M brand have shifted over the years and to whom they are targeting with these cars. Sad.

Come on, it's BMW, of course frozen paint and full leather not included They will charge you just to raise the speed limit.

As for the worry only one color is available, someone just posted CP introduction video in another thread, that car is white, so there you go.
